  1. How many people in here would have said Manny Machado was ready for the majors based on his age and his minor league numbers? Anyone think he'd even be in AA with us by now based on his numbers and his age?
  2. Mine formed towards the end of 2007...
  3. As for having it both ways... How about this: If Gardy can't take any of the blame for the last 2+ seasons, because he's been given so little talent, then he gets no credit for winning when we had more talent than any other team in our USUALLY (not always) very poor division...which was most of the seasons since he's been manager. On top of that, how is it that his coaches took the fall this offseason, but he doesn't? Were those coaches not working with the same talent? I'd also venture to say that season predictions by some took into account the manager we have.

  5. Did Gardy realy say that in postgame?
  6. If we draft Meadows or Frazier I'll be extremely disappointed.
  7. How MUCH less could you care?
  8. I don't know why anyone would criticize the FO...I mean clearly this year's rotation has been substantially improved as promised.
  9. Brad, Are you talking about the stuff Rhett writes other than for the Twins MLB site? Cause, in there, in my opinion, Rhett tells the Twins story exactly the way the Twins want him too and nothing more. Basically is another PR guy for them. I don't read his other stuff, if he has any. LEN3 right before the beginning of 2012 ST, didn't know Dozier had been a shortstop like forever...and this is after Dozier was Twins minor league player of the year. He said they're trying to convert Dozer from a 2B to a shortstop...as if shortstop was new to him. Apparently he went to a game where Dozier just happened to play 2B so, bam, he was a 2B. It's hard to believe his stuff when he doesn't know simple stuff. NOW he's been converted to 2B. I got to go with Mackey.
  10. Don't see any deleted posts on this thread...I see posts #1-#14...but I'll take your word for it :-)
  11. I think some kind of figured that before we ever got him...
  12. was sick of it before the season started.... Edit: I must have missed something...why did he get banned?
  13. Kevin Correai ERA in April: 2.23. In May: 5.71.
  14. more like bottom 5 in MLB? Going into today, tehy were 28th in rotation ERA...that just got a little bit worse today with Pelfrey doing what Pelfrey does...
  15. What makes it even worse, is that we were told the new ballpark was needed to be financially competitive, so they got the new park....and now we're back in a familiar area, bottom 3rd in payroll after finishing last in the AL for wins two seasons in a row...so yeah... On top of that Ryan saying he would do whatever it took to significantly improve the starting pitching for this year...and yeah...
  16. What some of us were seeing was that he was struggling...that he was getting away with some pitches. One person, around the 6th inning, thanked Correia cause he said he had stopped throwing meatballs up there (like he did at the beginning of the game). I said he's offering meatballs, they just aren't doing anything with them. For me, I see that and I don't want him going back out there in the 8th inning in a tie game. So far, he's gone out for the 8th innings 3 times, twice it was a close game, and twice it backfired. Unless he's got a 3 run lead or bigger, I don't want him going out for the 8th ever. He's not the kind of pitcher who has the stuff where he can shut the team down if he starts getting in trouble.
  17. 'Justin Morneau pulled into a tie for sixth place in the American League with four RBI on Monday night, but his high ranking has more to do with opportunity than effectiveness' it also has to do with the fact he's batting .318 with RISP and .309 with men on base. Pretty effective.
  18. All I know is that last night, on the site I go to chat during the game, everyone I was chatting with said pull Correia right after he completed 7 innings. Gardy, of course, said he wasn't second-guessing himself...
  19. Exactly...especially since he hasn't even played 90 games in a season yet.
  20. We don't agree to that, but unlike you, I allow for the fact he could...and already accounted for it in my argument. Then again, I'm not sure I ever said he would stay at that level he's at now. I noticed you avoided the question in that post, BTW. Here it is again: Now, let's say he drops down to 2.0-2.5 WAR, what will be the going rate in three years for that? Maybe 16, maybe only 13. We gonna complain about overspending 3 million when payroll will be as low as it will be?
  21. How in the world will it top us from signing a pretty good pitcher in 3 years with all the payroll going off the books by then?
  22. and I'll refer right back to a previous post of mine...that allowed for that. Now, let's say he drops down to 2.0-2.5 WAR, what will be the going rate in three years for that? Maybe 16, maybe only 13. We gonna complain about overspending 3 million when payroll will be as low as it will be?
  23. Exactly...a pitcher like that boosts our rotation by a lot AND hurts the Tigers' rotation at the same time...lots of value there
