  1. Who said that? Who has said that there aren't other factors? I think some have said they believe money is the main factor, but who has said money is the only factor for every player?
  2. I don't think I'm any of that...I'm saying that's how far the ridiculous argument that money isn't at least one of the larger considerations has gone in here....to the point where someone wants to defend the lack of spending so much that they say money isn't a factor at all. BTW, that was an unnecessary personal attack...just sayin'.
  3. When I first got to this site, I was slammed for suggesting that money was one of many factors for a player when picking a team. I didn't even say it was the most important factor, just one of the factors for some players. BAM, not possible was is what I was told over and over. So, you know, go figure...
  4. I think if Morny was full of himself, he wouldn't have been a gracious as he was during the HR derby a few years back when they interviewed the runner up before him and then when they did interview him, they called him by the wrong first name...Jason, I believe it was. He was all about giving Hamilton the glory. Players full of themselves would have raised a rukkus.
  5. When in doubt, that's the safe bet :-)
  6. yeah, we don't even know who was in the right or wrong in that confrontation between Hunter and Morny. Hunter was talking about how the young guys weren't respecting the veterans. Well, Hunter has always been a loudmouth, so makes me wonder...
  7. How many guys have the Twins promoted in the last couple years that likely shouldn't have ever been MLBers...especially pitchers?
  8. I think they were waiting for him to heat up.
  9. I honestly wonder whether or not Gibson will be a strikeout guy. I hope you're right.
  10. But no one is making you participate in topics you don't want to participate in, are they?
  11. okay, that was weird...see my post that was posted at the same time...
  12. I think the fact that the Twins have the lowest adjusted strikeout rate ever is news. I also think Fangraphs doesn't just write for Twins fans. Fans from other teams may have interest in knowing this about a team they don't necessarily follow. I don't think he writes just for Diehard Twins fans.
  13. I guess the humor was missed by some on that Mike...try to be serious all the time if you can... :-)
  14. he's my 2nd favorite all time Twin
  15. Dozier has an extra-base hit in each of his last seven games, which is just one game shy of the Twins' record.
  16. I'm not trying to blow the mood or anything..thought I'd let people know he said that for those who don't watch/get the postgame. Doesn't matter though....he did a great job letting him finish tonite.
  17. Gardy just got done calling himself a dummy saying he probably should have let him finish his first start.
  18. fantastic start by Albers...and kudos to Gardy for letting him complete the game!
  19. appreciate the correction...that's why I asked. The attached top article says 3,208,600. The one below it says 3.9. How did it go up? Allotment for international signings vital to clubs | MLB.com: News The Twins have $3.9 million to spend on international free agents this year, and the $1.4 million for Diaz takes up a large chunk of that, but the Twins are expected to be active in the international market, according to general manager Terry Ryan. "We'll be active everywhere internationally -- in the Dominican, Venezuela, Europe, Australia, Asia," Ryan said. "Every team has money earmarked for international signings, and we hope to spend it all. It won't just be one guy. It'll be a bunch."
  20. We paid 3.1 million for him. That's more than our allotted amount for this year isn't it? In any event, you said it's better to spread out risk with these young international signings by getting more mid-tier guys while going for less quantity and more quality in normal free agency. Getting Sano certainly didn't fall under that premise.
  21. Most of the top prospect guys are DR players and there are prospects camps in the DR. The scouts get their info there.
  22. So you were firmly against the Sano signing.
  23. You cared enough to come on here and make a post. You knew what the thread was about. If you didn't care, why not just avoid the thread altogether?
  24. His arm seemed pretty decent throwing behind the bag in foul territory this weekend...
