  1. LOOGY for the win! I am liking O'Rourke so far. Now, can we try a few other guys from AAA? How about Achter?
  2. So much for Escobar being bad defensively... He made a nice dive and made a good throw home. I'm not sure that Santana would make both those plays... but still, I think Escobar is better than some people here say he is.
  3. I didn't consider the possibility of giving him a qualifying offer if he walks into free agency. I suppose he'd decline it and we could get a 1st round pick for compensation.
  4. The Twins either got to lock him up with an extension or trade him for something nice. You can't just let him walk into free agency. The big question is Sano. We need Sano to be in the lineup every single day, but could he be the long-term DH or would he be a good 3B? It's going to become an interesting situation...
  5. Just told my dad, "Torii's only hitting .253. He isn't good anymore." Next pitch: WHAM! Home run. Perhaps I should consider sticking forks in some players next...
  6. We might just have what it takes to bring down the Yankees. Sano, you rock!
  7. Achter needs to be in the major league bullpen right now. I'd also give some auditions to some of the other names mentioned earlier. I also think it'd be wise to trade for a solid reliever and give up a non-top 20 prospect for him. (seriously, if Kazmir was that cheap for the Astros to get, we probably don't have to give up much to get a reliever, right?)
  8. I think it's time for Boyer to go. We need some better arms in the bullpen. Also, I was thinking about writing up a response about Escobar being defensively superior... well, now I don't have to write that response anymore!
  9. Maybe it's just me, but the Angels lineup doesn't look very good, especially when they're missing Trout.
  10. I'm going to echo many others here, but why not Escobar? He's the best offensive and defensive combination currently on the team. I would be OK if they gave Polanco a shot to win it in July-August. I'd like to see if Polanco could work defensively, and his bat would be a huge improvement too. If the Twins make the playoffs, Santana can't be the starting SS. He needs to work on his swing at AAA.
  11. Apparently May is a long reliever/blowout guy out of the bullpen now. The reason why he's there is because there's no room in the rotation, not because he's actually going to help the bullpen. And I think a Pelfrey/May swap would be a very good idea....
  12. Thank you, Coach Molitor. That was the right time to use Perkins.
  13. Perkins needs to pitch the 9th here. Please don't send out Thompson or Boyer...! Once Perkins throws in the 9th, then you can release the clowns in the 10th, if we get there.
  14. And then Duensing instantly gets a double-play groundball. As expected.
  15. Hicks!!! Somebody's stepping it up today.
  16. It looks like teams have finally gotten the scouting report on Suzuki - he can't throw out baserunners.
  17. This move for May is only a short-term thing. Let's hope he can help the bullpen, and if an injury happens, he can easily move back to starter. I am a bit ticked off, though. May has the best FIP out of all of our starters...
  18. Pelfrey currently has a 3.81 ERA., which is third best behind Milone and Gibson.
  19. For all the talk about Molitor being a base-stealing mastermind, the Twins have been very poor at stealing bases. Why is Hunter running there? Also, Gibson has been fantastic. Maybe he should be in the All-Star game... he's got a good enough ERA for it.
  20. Let it Sano, let it Sano, let it Sano! It's Christmas in July!
  21. The Twins are hitting, for once. Too bad it's in the one game where we're getting blown out.
  22. Who was that one user who suggested (in another topic) that we should install Meyer as our 8th inning pitcher? I'd like to have a word with him.
