  1. Under. 13-16. And I'd be satisfied with that.
  2. I'd never give Plouffe the green light in that situation. Pitcher just walked Mauer on 4 pitches, most likely on purpose to get to Plouffe, but still, it's 3-0. He hasn't got a hit all night, take a strike! I really can't stand him.
  3. AAA Plouffe has another brain fart. I so wanted Cola up with the sacks jammed.
  4. Well I guess I won't be watching, as it's not on FSN, it's on FSN Plus.
  5. Had Dish guy on the roof today fixing it, as it went down in Dec. Good to be home and able to watch some baseball on tv.
  6. If I was that age with a wife and two kids, I'd light up too.
  7. I really object to split doubleheaders. But the FO wants the money. Just play the doubleheader and give the fans a treat once in awhile. Back in the day doubleheaders were a lot of fun.
  8. I mentioned this spring to Gene Glynn he'd have a better rotation this year than the Twins did last season. It looks as though he has a better one this year. Any of the top four have to be thinking they could be the next called up. What a great competition, and good pitching down there is breeding good pitching. If the Red Wings had the luck the Twins have had being given runs this year they'd be way out in front of the league. Let these guys feed off each other and the Twins rotation work into some warmer weather to see what shakes loose. The Twins are having some uncanny luck winning games so far in a young season, but don't stand a chance of hanging with the Tigers IMO. I've got no idea who will, or should be the first called up, but I doubt it'll happen til later in June barring injuries. By the end of the year, who knows, maybe all four will get their chance of pitching up here. I wouldn't mind seeing what they could do at this level going into next season.
  9. The way Buxton was playing prior to the injury, Ft Myers is the place to be. He wasn't doing much at all earlier, and this way is just a walk down the sidewalk to the Miracle. If he heats up there then consider moving him to NB. If all goes well that's still a good month away.
  10. Winter is still here, I should of stayed in Ft Myers. Now I can't get into my driveway and am going to just wait til it melts.
  11. I agree, somethings just not right with him. I really expected Pelf to be a strong part of the rotation.
  12. I too would go with the original four.
  13. My last day at the fields this morning and nothing going on at all. Buxton drove out as I drove in. All done here til next year.
  14. We never should of traded him. I hope he has huge success there and it's entirely possible. One of my all tme favorites, and really just a nice guy.
  15. One thing I should mention that still is so vivid in my mind is the best catch I've ever seen. I was standing up against that chain link fence in left, the end section. It was so neat to be able to be just about next to a big leaguer. There was a kid standing beside me about a foot shorter. Nellie Fox was out there shagging fly's for bp and was close to us. One came about 15-20 feet from us and the kid yelled to Nellie to throw him the ball. Nellie fired it right at the kid's head. Nellie had a huge chew in his swullen cheek. In an instant, the kid put his thumb and two fingers through the fence and stabbed that ball! I couldn't believe it! I thought Nellie would spew snoose all over. The kid backed up a bit, still holding the ball between his thumb and two fingers, thought for a second, and then dropped flat to the ground, pulled up the bottom of the fence and grabbed the ball with his other hand. That section of the fence was hinged on the bottom and would open so they could drive in cars and ambulance or whatever. The kid walked away and Nellie was still standing there staring. I never have, nor ever will forget it.
  16. Well then 53 years ago today someone knocked on my junior high classroom door and said I was to go to the principals office. Worried about what I'd done now, I got there to have him tell me my Dad was in the parking lot waiting for me and we were going to the ballgame! I've got so many great memories of that place. I'd get on Randy Merriman's radio show all the time. Win some silly stuff, but sometimes really good seats. We'd try for the homerun balls in bp that would fall under the left field bleachers. One day we took home 13 of them. The neighbor had a pickup and we'd load up in the box and he'd take and drop us off on his lunch break. Always got the cheap seats, and wandered all over the place in those early days. Times were good.
  17. Yesterday in extended the Twins played the Orioles and Manny Machado was at 3rd. He popped out twice and struck out twice, the last one on 3 nasty changeups, swinging. This morning Mark Hamberber threw live bp.
  18. Mauer swung at a first pitch strike today. Time for some of us to smell the roses.
  19. I don't think he's played yet. My buddy talked to him, says he's skinny as a rail, and hadn't thrown a ball since before spring training, where ever he played this winter.
  20. And a dinger today! Gardy's a genius.
  21. Harmon Killebrew also, along with pepperoni and sausage.
  22. My sentiments also. And I had no qualms about Bartlett and Kubel getting the jobs, like so many seem to have now. This team wasn't going anywhere this year anyway, so why not try. And it seems to be working out, as Kubel has done better than anyone expected. The Twins hit .500 on this one, that's pretty darn good. Bart gave it a shot, and now he won't have to wonder for life what if.... He wants to coach anyway and perhaps has some feelers with interest in that direction. He's had a nice career, made 16 million, and was an important part of the Twins for a time. Good luck to him.
