    You never know what you're going to see. Today Hrbek did some commercials for Carrier.

    Walks. The first pitcher got lifted after filling the bases, and the reliever walked the first 2 he faced.

    Today: Berrios 93-96. Plunked Travis Harris with a 95 and then after a walk plunked another with a 93. Not a good showing for him, or Santana who got hit around a lot including a homer by Trey Vavra. Santana sat at 90-94

    Around 9:30-10ish to see them practice.

    No. And I don't think it's bad. Santana starts tomorrow in the minors. Should be fun!

    Duffey did not look good on the other end today. Perkins was fine as was Fien. Actually Duffey's first inning was cut to 2 outs due to pitch count I presume.

    Tied up. Randy Rosario takes the mound.

    Back to back doubles, Mauer, Sano, and a single by Max puts the good guys up 1.

    it's got to be real HOT out there today. Scrambling for shade........

    They play games at 1pm against each other on Sunday, Monday and Tue., and then start playing other teams Wednesday. The rosters and schedule are in a box on the wall outside of the minor league offices.

    Spring training tickets went up $3 this year. It's getting hard to justify going to a game to watch a bunch of minor leaguers from the opposing team play some of the Twins regulars for 4 innings. Greed.......

    We are nearing the point of making cuts. They should start coming in the next few days and the parade of the long walk to the other end will begin.

    Vielma will end up having more years than any of the others.

    Sano follows Rosario's double with a long ball.

    If there's any platooning to be done with Arcia it will be with Park. I say Arcia is a lock to make the team, Park isn't.

    Terry Ryan talked about that during the first game with Gladden and Provus. He said Polanco was serviceable at 2nd, ss, and 3rd and could play in the outfield.

    Rosario has pitched before this spring. He looks good, who knows he could make a late season appearance for us.

    Any extension for Plouffe turns my stomach. I can see Sano and possibly Gibson.

    I remember asking AJ one spring why he didn't call more fastballs for LaTroy, as they were hitting his other pitches pretty well the year before. His answer was that anyone can hit a fastball.

    I was at the fields that day and it was very, very quiet.

    Away game today and those left behind started practice at 9:40. The minor leagues will be practicing every day now too. Good way to go down and watch the future.

    The Firemen arrive today at the Lai Kai. Leave your clothes on!

    Interesting drill early this morning which I missed but was told about. Mauer was hitting in the cage, a coach throwing the ball to him. Each ball was numbered, 1, 2, or 3. The object was to see if Joe could pick up the number. Then he and Suzuki hit in the cage with some special glasses that had dials on them to change the view. They would adjust the settings. Suzuki looked as if some of the settings he couldn't see squat. I've never seen either of these before but will keep an eye out.

    One of those at bats he drilled a bullet down the right field line foul, which I took as very encouraging, pulling the ball. It's not like he had bad at bats, as some would like one to believe.
