    Best comment in this thread. The Twins' losses are due to poor pitching and defense. Pitching and defense wins and loses games. Period. Until the Twins step up their defense and bullpen, they can score 10 runs, and it STILL won't be enough. Miranda is not ready to be in the field. Urshela is! Miranda is a disaster at 1B. And Kirilloff was signed as an outfielder and has played almost no 1B. Look it up! When Polanco comes off the IL, Arraez should go back to 1B and leave him there. Night after night - the Twins have too many rookies (minor leaguers) in their lineup.

    Miranda is a huge liability in the field. WHEN will the Twins learn that pitching and defense wins games. Way too many errors - and he's not the only one...

    At some point, Miranda should have become a better defender. He almost always makes at least one error at first or at third.

    It is beyond me why Rocco keeps Miranda and sends Royce Lewis down. Rocco is supposed to be a "numbers" guy. Which numbers is he seeing? #roycerolls

    Thank you for your highly detailed article "Let's Cut Miguel Sanó Some Slack."  I was so happy to read your comments and specifics about the start to his 2022 season.  I would never give up on him, and you, obviously, haven't given up on him, either.  He has been a "VERY UNLUCKY DOMINICAN."

    The Twins don't need Pitching PROSPECTS. They need PITCHERS. I'm so tired of talking about prospects while the Twins have let available PITCHERS go to other teams because they spend their wad on the likes of Donaldson. Really? Talk to us when the Twins get some PITCHERS. How many MORE seasons will this glaring problem exist before they figure it out? #insanity

    The media and MLB want to make this about the 50 players making an exorbitant amount of money. There are 30 teams with 40-man rosters. We can pick nits with that number, but 1200 is a big number! Only the few big-market owners can pay those 50 in an attempt to fill the seats and "buy" championships. MLB is putting a put a few multi-millionaires on the fields, but for years, younger and younger players are being brought up, not ready for the bigs (not trained in the minors) and the owners pay them less over time. There's an incredible amount of greed in today's game - and in the end, it's the FANS who bear the brunt at the ticket office.

    The message I'm getting is that the Twins are not "players." 1) The Twins aren't offering enough money, and 2) Nobody wants to come here. It's Thanksgiving, and the Twins have done nothing. NOBODY else is doing NOTHING. Sad.

    My comment was about the players who came out of the Twins FARM SYSTEM. None of those players is to Falvine's "credit."

    Garver, Sanó, Polanco, Gordon, Arraez, Kepler, Buxton, Rooker, and Duffy and Jax (also Eddie Rosario, Lamonte Wade Jr., Berrios, and Chargois who sadly are gone) ALL came from the Twins farm system - PRE-FALVINE, who came in October, 2016. Falvine brought in Ober and Jeffers (who got the chance due to Garver's injury). That's not much - but it's still early, right? Five years.

    After pondering "I hardly doubt they don't have a clue" for long enough to figure it out, I will say (bean & squirrel) that I also have charged Falvine (could it really be Rocco?) with possibly drawing the line-up out of a hat. Some consistency may be better. I feel badly for the Twins' suffering thru this "lost season," with a ton of injuries, and losing a good part of their "heart" when Cruz was dealt to the Rays. Squirrel's comment is on point, so I don't need to add to it, but we all know pitching to minor league hitters, no matter your minor league success, is way different than pitching in the bigs. We see it all the time.

    Joe Ryan, while he did a great job for the Saints, last night, is undoubtedly not ready for the major league mound, but the Twins have a habit of bringing players who are "not quite ready" to their line-up. So... I suspect we'll see him soon. Pretty demoralizing for someone like Charlie Barnes, facing the NYY last night. The Twins shouldn't be setting up failure for their rookies... Actually, I don't know why you'd throw any lefty against the NYY in the Bronx. That short fence is laughable, actually. A line drive, 10' off the ground, gets out of there in 319 feet. No wonder they hit so many "home runs."

    I wasn't talking about next year. My comment could have been "there's nothing new under the sun..." I don't see the Twins as serious contenders on the field or bidders in building their team. Banking on Royce Lewis was just one example.

    I am baffled that the Twins are (WERE) banking on Royce Lewis, a .236 hitter in AA, to jump to the majors and fill the SS role. Whatever... We got what we paid for in Simmons, and he's done a good job at that position this year. He's gotten a few key hits and is a gold-glove fielder. $18M would not have been too much to pay for Marcus Semien, but the Twins made a decision to fill spots as cheaply as possible. I doubt that will change.

    The Twins knew what they were getting in Simmons. That's why they paid $11 million for him instead of the $18 million that Semien got from Toronto. You get what you pay for. Simmons has contributed at least as well as expected, and maybe better than expected at the plate. The Twins were banking on Royce Lewis. He hit .235 in AA in 2019, but the Twins were expecting him to jump, effectively, to the show. Oops.

    Every single word of what Mark G. said is exactly right! Rocco was trained in Tampa to use his computer rather than his eyes and knowledge of the game. So sad... Regarding the "line-up" for each game, I'm pretty sure Rocco draws the names out of a hat. And, it's pretty disheartening to have MLB where we live, but follow other teams to see how our former players are doing... (BY THE WAY - Jon Marthaler needs to be a regular contributor here. Pithy is good.)

    Donaldson was not "right" for the Twins - not on the field nor in the Clubhouse. As for his talent, that ship has sailed almost completely out of view. This was a costly move for the Twins - in all ways. His few jacks are not enough compensation.

    José Berríos is a hard-working, well-prepared pitcher who will be missed in Minnesota. He's a true gentleman, and I wish him well. As for the pitching outlook for the Twins, we won't compete with Chicago now or in the foreseeable future. There's a lot of money in the White Sox organization and they will spend it. The Twins' wallet was emptied on Josh Donaldson. Oops.

    I hope the two righties the Twins got in the Nelson Cruz trade are "nearly ready." They must BE ready for the '22 season (everyone, including the Twins front office, has written off '21). The Twins NEED coaching. None of their coaches does a good job! The Twins haven't groomed their own pitchers. Same with the hitting coaches. Cruz did his best to "fix" Sanó and it wasn't even his job! Sanó is just one example of an incredibly gifted player who hasn't gotten good coaching in the Twins organization. Poor coaching is the ONLY possible reason for Sanó's inability to reach his potential. There is really no excuse for it.

    The Twins, over several "regimes," suffer from a poor coaching staff. Players leave; get "fixed," and succeed! (Pressly, Escobar, Lance Lynn, Aaron Hicks, and it doesn't end there!)
