This West Coast trip provides quite the contrast in opponents. San Diego is an experienced team with sluggers, a winning record, and a shut down bullpen. The Twins will need to be sharp in the field, pitch well, and score in innings 1-5. The West Sacramento A's are decimated from injuries with starters, relievers, and their six best position players on the IL.  The Twins will face a young hungry group of A's wanting to take a bite out of the Twins. The Twins will need to show the A's what they are, which is a better team at this time. Sometimes clubs get lost on these trips out to the coast. The Twins have a chance to rise in the next week before their fifteen battles in a row with the AL Central. Hopefully, Connor Prielipp is focused and geared up to shut down the Friars tonight.

Could be that Joe Musgrove is being activated from the IL

He went 4.2 innings in a August 16 rehab start, so the timing works for that

My wild speculation is that we get Casey Mize tonight (on normal rest because they had an off day yesterday) and Joe Musgove tomorrow (with one extra day of rest since he hasn't pitched in the Majors since 2024).

We've had alright luck in the win column lately on the left coast. What I remember is the bum injury luck, Correa in SF and Pablo on the A's mound. Need a 4-2 getaway and then get ready for some divisional fun back in the Midwest after.

I will be present for all three games. It will be a packed house tonight which is typical for a Padres game on Friday night partially due to their Happy Hour promotion. It will be warm here this weekend with highs in the mid 80's which is considered 🔥 for us spoiled San Diegans. Go Twins

ESPN has had Vasquez listed for at least a day, but MLB has it as TBD.

Not sure what's up

They aren't trying to start the guy we have in St Paul against us, are they? What devil magic is this..

Here in SD...they are saying Randy Vasquez..but you never know...Delaying Musgrove until next week due to elbow injury....I believe that he has a 4.30 ERA...8-6...lost 6 to 1 last game to cleveland

Some sites (like ESPN) have had that for a while, but MLB.com is still showing TBD.

Quite hittable. Should get some runs.

...

note: I'll leave it to you to decide which pitcher I'm referring to.

Man, a lot of the teams we are rooting to lose are playing terrible teams

Astros playing A's
Rangers playing Angels
Guardians playing Rockies
Tigers playing Royals
White Sox playing Mets
Red Sox playing Giants

Just the Blue Jays are playing a good team (Yankees)

My only nitpick with that is that the Mets have been playing really good baseball since July and are 15-10 in their last 25.

So wait... why didn't the White Sox trade for Dobnak and just line him up for two starts against the Twins? Did that make TOO much sense?
