  1. A LOT of people on this site are having conniptions about Simmons batting average, while ignoring his superior fielding skills so preach your number games some where else.
  2. Is there another way of determining how often one HAS ACTUALLY hit the ball fair, not fantasy league let's pretend?
  3. I do not dislike him but he is slow with a weak arm, some thing the Twins cannot afford with their some times ineptitude in the field. Garlick or Refsnyder are much better, therefore; Larnach should spend a year of time in AAA to see if what you see is all that you will ever get. A veteran OF with a accurate strong arm would be best but Garlick or Refsnyder look good; I do not see Rooker as any better than Larnach, at this point.
  4. If those numbers you are infatuated with determined who would be in the Hall of Fame, it would be a LOT smaller now than it is.
  5. It goes against your narrow mind and dislike for a player, que sera, sera.
  6. Hmm, .289, .281,. 278, .292, .297 yep it is a shame he had such low batting averages, wait batting averages mean nothing so all the hype about Arraez is poppy-cock, get real.
  7. The article I pasted by A.J. HInch in another thread stated how difficult it is to bring some one up from simple AA to AAA with screwing them up by moving them to fast, that you just never really know. Larnach is an example.
  8. He has never been a home run hitter but far from not being a good hitter. 9. If, if Gordon stays with the Twins, we may, although I doubt with this dead base running offense, see a Twin steal home again.
  10. If I were a betting man, my money is on Simmons coming back; with help from a hitting coach next year.
  11. Simmons error allowed the run that tied the game; Simmons hustle and throw prevented the run that would have cost the Twins the game, His defense is still far, far above anyone else that could play there. Polanco is thriving in bad season; I really wonder how some others on the team would be performing if the Twins were in contention. In my opinion also, I think Cruz's performance for the Rays is not what it was as he would rather be here, that there, regardless of Twins record.
  12. Fans go to a game to see a team win, unless they are masochists; they do not spend money to see owners throw crap against a wall to see what sticks.
  13. The analogy is a Straw-man argument, I will leave it at that.
  14. AA play level is not as difficult as AAA, it is a simple as that because he has not mastered AAA yet.
  15. "I don't think there's an exact science," Hinch said about moving Torkelson and Greene to Toledo. "You can't predict how things are going to be. You call them up, and they get off to a really hot start, then you kept them down there too long. You call them up and they get off to a dry spell and they're not very good early, then you rushed them. There's no perfect way to predict exactly how they're going to respond or what the right time is." This article: Detroit Tigers promote Spencer Torkelson, Riley Greene, Ryan Kreidler to Triple-A Toledo (yahoo.com) with A.J.HInch of the Detroit Tigers is about moving rookies from AA to AAA much less the Big Show. This article shows moving these players around is not a simple -- Why aren't they moving so and so because I think they should -- so much rhetoric is about here but says why and how difficult it actually is to do so and not screw things up worse for the player or team. --- A good read.
  16. That is what the minor league is for; not dumping on paying spectators in major league games.
  17. You really want the Twins to lose .
  18. Paranoia strikes deep, into your life it will creep....
  19. If SS is that worthless then Polanco should still be a short, or Arraez should be there, as "Figures won't lie: but men that draw up the tables may."
  20. That is what AAA is for; they get to the big show when they have already shown, they may be ready, not for more training. All have to adapt, but I doubt many are sent up as maybe-kinda-sorta ready; injuries in the big league may force that but that is no longer the case for bringing up any more wannabes -- well pitching possibly.
  21. Cave has been in a steady decline for some odd reason but his agility in the outfield makes either Larnach or Rooker look like lumbering hippos.
  22. People do not pay 19 bucks for a cheap ticket, to go watch batting practice which is what this would be.
  23. To 98.6 percent of the fans, winning is every thing, or they would not go.
