  1. That, just as much, or to me, even more than poor pitching is the problem that MUST be addressed or they are going to be the same incompetent team they are now, next year.
  2. Twins lost 2 games in this series on fielding stupidity, regardless of the blow out, they should have won 3.
  3. The Twins lost due to poor fielding by the SS, that Palacios was at SS in a very important game says a lot about whey the Twins have fallen. Rodriguez did a good job pitching and now he is gone, that, says a lot also.
  4. Next spring/early summer will determine Larnach's future, nothing this year matters.
  5. Jeffers also struck out with the bases loaded in the Ninth, no outs.
  6. I watched the end of that game on MilB's version of Gamecast; bases loaded , all he had to do was hit a fly ball or a grounder any where to right and game over but it was zip, zip, zip.
  7. For what it is worth Jeffers hit a three run home run a bit back to tie the game at 5-5 against LOU.
  8. 22 errors in 3 Minor League years; the much loathed B. Hamilton has 10 errors in ten Major League years. Twins cannot afford to ply drop-catch-drop-catch-drop-catch.... Jake Cave seems to be in a slump again but he is good with a glove and has a strong arm.
  9. B. Hamilton is a VERY good outfielder and the last time he held a bat, came very close to a dinger.
  10. OF course they have a chance, will they, depends on bats coming alive as much as pitching as last few games showed.
  11. Maybe the Twins coaching staff is the problem?
  12. He is not ready for prime time while the Twins cannot afford to baby sit him while they still have a chance.
  13. Getting hammered based on what? He gave up 4 hits, 2 Ks and no walks, for 2 runs. If that is hammerd then the bar is very, very low.
  14. It will depend on what function as a player the Twins see most valuable whether hitting, fielding, speed afoot etc. Twins will look at all the options next spring, veterans and rookies, and who starts the season in the Majors will have the most of what the Twins want.
  15. How many of Twins past pitchers quit because they blew their arm out, there were dozens of pitchers so name some.
  16. n 8 Minors years, Kepler had 15 errors; in 3 minors years Wallner has 22. Just what is needed a fielder who has trouble getting the ball out of the outfield.
  17. Where are the stats. that prove this was not inevitable , whether they 130 or 100 pitches. If some thing breaks due to inherit weaknes , it will break regardless of time..
  18. Is it legal to temp. demote to lower leves some players from higher level clubs for the play-offs? The fans in those stands deserve just as much as the AAA and Major league teams.
  19. That must have been really , really important as the Twins record shows.
  20. With the exception of Buxton, who said not playing every day screwed him up, all - If play blah, blah, blah - is a simple rationalizing excuse/s for the Twins failure/s. Larnach and Jeffers loss was did NOT have a big effect, Jeffers was/is a run-at-will catcher . Jeffers played approx. one half the number of games Sanchez played, if you doubled Jeffers numbers rbi, hr, etc. they are similar to Sanchez, big difference is Sanchez is far better defensive player. Larnach - If you go to Baseball Ref. where he, Kirilloff , Garlic and Cave stats. are directly in a cluster -- per number of at bats in reality very little difference (Cave has so few at bats, a hitting streak or slump changes his numbers drastically) so who played, with the exception of Caves fielding ability, makes little difference. Celestino and Gordon, hmm, well Gordon fluctuated between the worst and best of the movie character Willie Mays Hays all season; Celestino reflects the Twins , a steady slow decline. In my opinion Baldelli is just a continuing of the not ready for prime time managers the Twins have had since Tom Kelly left, and until that is changed , it will be more and more disappointment . Maybe is the curse of the Gardy.
  21. Just heard a bit of a sports show on WCCO radio; in the part I heard they said injuries were piling up but that was zero excuse for getting swept by Cleveland, or their poor play of late. Sadly I could not stay for any more.
  22. OK , excpet earlier in the year, they shut down after five innings regardless of who was the pitcher
  23. Well Palacios was brought with good Minor League batting and lousy fielding; now it is lousy batting and fielding in the majors. Crap shoots for the Twins do not work well.
