  1. Yep, Kirilloff is SO good, the Twins FO went shopping for a true professional First Base player. Yep, again, put poorly functioning players at First Base so opposing teams can tell their players to hit is towards First or Third where the Twins defense is a mirage.👍
  2. Miranda at 3rd base this year improved slightly; Lewis was lousy, just like his bat.
  3. Hmm. 2024 2023 A lot of close games in 2023; a lot of Twins being blown-out in 2024, heck , who needs defense, all that does is keep the score close.
  4. Helman's major positions in the minors was Short Stop and then Second Base.
  5. "As I contemplated the career of J.D. Drew, I started to wonder: What would happen if a baseball team had a lineup composed of nine J.D. Drews? From a sabermetric perspective, the results would be unstoppable. A team with an .873 collective OPS, with each hitter averaging 25 home runs per 162 games while getting on base at a .384 clip would be astounding. Plug those numbers into a ZIPS or PECOTA projection, and surely that team would dominate, with even an average pitching staff. Except that just ain’t the way baseball works. If you want to know the downside of a team full of J.D. Drews, witness the collapse of the 2024 Minnesota Twins. Player after player, leaning into their back leg and waiting for a mistake, going station to station on the bases, being passive not just in their approach but in their overall mentality as competitors, consistently out-executed by opponents that would appear less talented. Sure, that's a lot of conjecture, but I've watched enough Cleveland Guardians games to know the difference. Twenty years ago, even 10 years ago, I would have dismissed this as complete and utter nonsense, but you need sparkplugs to win baseball games over a long season. Just having a bunch of good hitters isn’t enough, not for 162 games. Something needs to light the fire, because odd things happen in baseball. Squibbers ruin good pitching outings and rockets find gloves. You need a hair-on-fire, manic, obnoxious nightmare of a human being who plays crazy over-the-top baseball--whose will to beat the other team exceeds his actual talent level. You might need a couple of those guys." -------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It is just your opinion but a winning team does not need players to act like a snot faced punk who if he does not get his way , will the ball and go home. You seem to be making an excuse for the Twins lack of rookie talent not living up to the wishful thinking level so many hold them at. The Twins taking an early lead in so many games, over the past few years, and then getting their butts hand to them is more likely one psychological reason they seemed to lose heart; it could also be being coached in a losing manner by Baldelli and the FO. Or are you saying the Twins need another Billy Martin to crack skulls when they do not have a snit fit after striking out J.D. did?
  6. If that is true, that makes most of the rest of the infielder just plain lousy. His defense numbers for last and this year are the best he ever had, and while all we spew out here are our opinions, that fact is probably why he was picked up.
  7. Price does not determine who might replace him, only important in your opinion.
  8. That IS what I said.
  9. Think again, Sanatana was not brought in for his bat and unless they want another gaping hole in the infield they will keep Santan or bring a glove as good as his in.
  10. Bigger is often not better.
  11. VERY interesting. Julien will be gone or stuck in AAA with the failed Lee, Martin experiment.
  12. Biggest needs: Resign Santana, Kepler and Farmer.
  13. Trade Jeffers for Rortvedt - Although - his batting average is up but his defense fell to Jeffers level this year. Some thing screwed him up.
  14. I agree and disagree; in 2023 we had Solano , Urshela and Taylor, and Big difference. It took Margot till the last two weeks of he season to remember how to play outfield, well; Third Base had Lewis and Miranda, neither of which were as good there as Urshela; First Base was better with Santana but Solano was better than any other Twin at First. IF Kepler, Santana and Farmer are gone next year, the Twins will look like a AAA team as they did in Sept.
  15. That is not retool, that is throw crap against the wall and see what sticks.🤢
  16. Wishful thinking on the good day and Shooting Craps the rest.
  17. You need a strong arm in Left Field NOT Right Field; Larnach has a week arm which would mean the opponents would have a field day with doubles or scoring from Second. Larnach's fielding history is FAR better in Right Field.
