  1. I actually think the occasional bean ball to the ass will keep the bad blood from festering and more dangerous plays from happening on the bases. But man, headhunting should be 20 games. That's messing with careers.
  2. I would agree, and that is the likely outcome. And while I think Gibson is bad and will not rebound, it is still only 4 starts. And the 2012-13 free agent pitching class was atrocious.
  3. A little early to say something this certain.
  4. Even if this was true, I probably would have kept it to myself.
  5. I think that beyond these two, an argument can be made that everyone else is performing within expectations. Gibson is much more shocking at this point.
  6. I think you're being comically naive, but fair enough.
  7. Twins are still going to win in low to mid 70s. People are really freaking out about a bad week. They'll hit better. Mejia and Berrios will have some moments. They'll just have some ugly stretches from time to time.
  8. Gibson being so terrible really set back the staff. If he was even medicore they could probably scratch out a competitive rotation, cycling through the young guys until one or two clicked, riding a hot hand, and perhaps even hoping for a AA guy to put it together.
  9. Tepesch makes the most sense. They need to prepare for innings to back up Hughes. Finally acting like a modern team.
  10. They're all assets at this point. But get ready for some exciting Escobar in LF action. I don't have a date because I'm not sure how long the rehab will last. I doubt they're in a hurry tho.
  11. Santana won't survive Adrianza. Berrios will get next chance in rotation if he doesn't fall apart next two starts in AAA. A couple more effective and healthy appearances by Chargois and he'll be up.
  12. I'd take some Wood right now.
  13. That is an oft repeated line that it's *only* the draft. I don't think it's the plan. Probably need a little time. I expect multiple trades this season, a little bit more aggressive offseason. The org is in bad shape. They had some young guys with potential and little else. Going to take some time.
  14. Start with having better options. Cutting and benching players with no better alternative and making bad trades won't accomplish much.
  15. I suspect all kinds of outcomes are possible. Berrios will get his chance soon enough. We can all hope he's good, but it's far from a sure thing.
  16. Mauer is likely physically cooked. If he can't get it going, wonder if they'll do a mutual buyout mid-season. Just can't imagine why he'd want to play out the spring this way.
  17. Sano's here for at least 4.5 more years. That's kind of a strange comment.
  18. Short answer is no. He's still in the minors for other reasons. But probably not for long.
  19. On April 23 last year Dozier was at 179/276/313. He's ahead of schedule!
  20. And if they had traded him to the Dodgers they'd still have no pitching. So might as well keep him and see if the market changes.
  21. I'll take the over on Dozier's final line.
  22. And it's probably not a coincidence that the Dodgers were willing to move De Leon and now it looks like he's headed to Tommy John. Instead of being critical, we should probably be crediting the Twins front office for not executing such a massive blunder.
  23. 6 years out from TJ. Maybe it's about to go again.
  24. Truly is a shame they don't have an injured starter at AAA.
  25. Don't get your hopes up.
