  1. My gut tells me the team will have a sharp reaction to last week's god awful game in how they play tonight: They'll be pissed off and put it altogether and show what they are capable of. Win with authority. or It was such a blow to their confidence that we end this great season on a whimper and they look like a hot mess again.
  2. My observations: * I think Love is hurt. And that's not the silver lining Packer fans should think it is: the guy is starting to show some real durability issues. * Jacobs is legit. * The Eagles passing game is NOT legit. We have a shot to beat that team simply because I don't fear their passing attack. Make no mistake - their front is ridiculous. Davis and Carter are a bad matchup for us. Their CBs with Slay, Dejean, and Mitchell are also a real problem. If it was a 6-3 game it wouldn't shock me. * Buffalo is going to win the Super Bowl. (At least I hope they do if we don't) * I love Baker Mayfield, but he'll never quite elevate his team to a SB I think. * Jayden Daniels.....he feels like he will. The Commanders have no business being in this position given their new coach, massive roster shake-up, and a rookie QB. Heckuva season.
  3. I agree. As much as I dislike Payton, you can't dismiss his chops as an offensive mind. He's gift wrapped Nix a safe, easy road into the NFL. Nix doesn't need to apologize for that, but I question how far that takes you if he's not capable of more. It's not like the Bills have an all-world defense and it looked easy out there for them.
  4. I'm a pretty big believer in not paying for running backs. But....yeah, those were some bargains.
  5. I've long had an issue with how poorly coached and prepared college linemen are. Wow was that on display. Texas could have put out orange cones at tackle and had a better chance of tripping Jack Sawyer last night. Sawyer wasn't even doing much to win those matchups....just god awful technique by the OL.
  6. Also...as I found out about 40 minutes too late thanks to having no work flexibility as a teacher.....the LA access code was being openly shared on the internet for Vikings fans. So many of those purchases during that window were Viking fans too.
  7. $150 for nosebleeds. The NFL has no shame, lol.
  8. Definitely, but usually these things start to leak somehow. It's just crazy to me how we get reports about how advanced the process is with so little information beyond that.
  9. I'm curious.....if the sale is that close....why isn't there more information out there about other buyers than the Ishbias? Or why isn't there more confirmation that they are the ones leading this process?
  10. Well...tickets appear to be $200-600 even though there was a last minute relocation. NFL knows how to gouge. i won't attend at full prices, that's just silly.
  11. Woohoo! Now I just gotta get my hands on tickets!
  12. Ok....unless we're required to play the QB2 on rotational basis, I don't see how it matters.
  13. They'll also lose if all their shoes are tied together or they have to play defense blindfolded. Is Sam Darnold hurt or what is the impetus here?
  14. Is anyone concerned that his defensive scouting reports aren't very good? (At least in terms of keeping him at catcher)
  15. At worst we gave up nothing for nothing. At best...we gave up nothing to take an interesting flyer that pans out. You make that move 100% of the time. Even if it develops into nothing.
  16. What context do you need? Someone standing up at a press conference saying they hate black people while they twirl their mustache? Remember - in 10 years....10 years!!! - we came up with a grand total of about 12-15 black men who got hired as head coaches. Of those rare few who got a chance, a third of them didn't even get a second year. This is a sport which is predominantly played by black men. Yet the vast majority of leaders are white. Sometimes racism isn't overt. It's just so engrained in the system that no one is even aware they are taking part in it. The NFL and their head coaches (quarterbacks too) are monuments to this IMO.
  17. I will begin working with my children on meme-worthy acts of anguish, exuberance, and shame. (Pending results of game)
  18. If it moves....I'll go for sure. Can I trade "shirtless" for a sign with an inside BYTO joke? "I left Statfreak at home" or (memory failing - is this right? @Brock Beauchamp) "Get Reeeaaaadddyyyyy!"
  19. That would make 5 of 14 then. 36% ain't helping the argument.
  20. I don't know how you're getting the Texans thing. Wilks was AZ, Culley Houston, Mayo was NE, and Pierce was Vegas. I actually don't need context, the evidence is really overwhelming that rich old white guys don't like hiring black guys. And when they do, they get a lot less slack than the white guys. Is it always racism? No. Is that a major factor? Statistically speaking it would be crazy not to conclude it's a factor given all the data.
  21. The minute the ink dries on that will be an albatross/mistake they wish they never made. I get the move, but what the Vikings did is the more daring and smarter one IMO. Paying what you could sign 3-4 impact players at other positions for one mediocre QB is a good way to be stuck at 7-8 wins. Take big swings or save your money.
  22. Well, let's look a tad deeper than shall we? The only black coaches even hired in that time frame have been Lovie Smith (2 years), Jim Caldwell (4 years) Todd Bowles (4 years), Hue Jackson (2.5 years), Anthony Lynn (4 years), Vance Joseph (2 years), Steve Wilks (1 year), Brian Flores (3 years), David Culley (1 year), Demeco Ryans (2 years and counting), Antonio Pierce (1 year), Jared Mayo (1 year), Raheem Morris (1 year and counting). Out of 13 tries, I count 4 guys that only got one year. I guarantee you that percentage (31%) is way higher than the 6 white guys that got fired after one.
