  1. It's possible. Every scandal he puts himself in shrinks his ability to deal with the next one. But Comey is a smart dude and it looks like he really protected himself in case this happened. Which, frankly, might be among the greatest things he or anyone else has done for this country in awhile.
  2. Can we take a minute to appreciate how great a character Nacho is? This show is so outstanding sometimes I feel like I have to stop and appreciate the supporting aspects and he is easily one of the best.
  3. He will resign before he makes it a year.
  4. Or maybe it emboldens him to stay in the fight and be the one sane barrier we have between what we have now (embarrassment) and what it could become (outright chaos). I for one hope he doesn't lose the faith. We might be screwed if he does.
  5. I agree, I really don't care for them, even if they are well done. But it was hard to ignore that Diesel is in this movie and a lot of the themes felt like Space Fast and Furious. Still a damn fine movie though. It wasn't as good as the first one, but the first one was really, really good at what it was trying to be. Not many silly action movies can make you cry in the first five minutes and last five minutes and keep you laughing and enthralled the rest of the time. They took a bunch of no-names in the Marvel Universe and made them some of the most beloved in their cinematic universe. No small feat. Especially when DC is simultaneously making you hate or shake your head at characters that are absolutely adored.
  6. Right, but we have to measure it by where we stand today right? Yes, the setbacks have been aplenty it feels like, but don't all the other teams get judged by the same standards? I'm sure other teams have had setbacks and graduations too, when we start to nitpick too hard on the rankings based on specific things with the prospects we know well - we lose the forest for the trees.
  7. I think Berardino is a damn fine beat writer. I also think he went a bit overboard on this.
  8. In fairness, I'm not sure there is a metric of 250 by which Reusse would rank Sano. Other than #1 in the top 250 worst humans on the planet.
  9. 250 pounds right?
  10. Maybe, but a few decent starts doesn't make me feel any better about his shoulder. The longer he stays a starter, IMO, the more risk there is he blows his arm out.
  11. The series represents about 15% of the movies made by mankind, I'm surprised you haven't stumbled upon one by accident!
  12. Also, every team has "numbers" if they want to slap together a list. Taht's not really the point.
  13. Are we sure this wasn't written by Reusse?
  14. I think the term "ace" is one of the most over-blown, largely empty phrases we use in baseball. He's pitching well right now....that's good and that's about all we can really say.
  15. I don't know, Fast and Furious has done like 32 sequels with that theme, so does it still count as rare?
  16. So it only took him spilling classified information to the Russians to get the Republicans to tepidly pull back support and be more vocally critical. That's all.
  17. It's ad-blocker worthy. On mobile devices it's especially egregious.
  18. Sounds like a good slogan for a hat. Someone print that bad boy up and let's get some merchandise going around here!
  19. I really hope Jay and Stewart become contributors, but as of today they look like busts relative to their draft position. I hope that changes, but that's the reality of today.
  20. I can't quite put my finger on why though. I think, in previous seasons, certain characters had their hooks in me more. Nobody has that at this point. Stussey's Humvee driving stooge is the closest. The British guy does nothing for me at this point, nor does that story.
  21. It's a tad weaker than previous seasons IMO.
  22. It's hard not to read this and appreciate Molitor's approach here as well.
  23. Sometimes the people that frustrate us are the ones we learn the most from. Now stupidity is another thing and twitter is rife with that. I ignore the site altogether. But for this? "Why so serious?" comes to mind. Lighten up, Parker isn't calling for the kid's head or anything.
  24. I bet BABIP looked a lot better when most of the outfielders moved like Josh Willingham. (I have no data for this, just a gratuitous Willingham shot due to my mental image of 1950s era outfielders)
  25. I've mostly liked what they have done with the roster, but their offseason was not very good IMO. One really, really good signing and then they focused on Napoli (huh?), didn't address the bullpen, and added very little for pitching depth. So, I'm still feeling them out. As should most people, we simply haven't seen enough to make decisions. But I will say - they are making less obviously stupid decisions compared to the prior FO.
