  1. Cards have already made defensive substitutions. Matt Carpenter already out of the game.
  2. I, for one, would have loved for Baldelli to go Hal McRae there.
  3. 2019 wasn't the most crushing but it was probably the most disappointing just to realize how far behind the elite teams we are. 2004 was the most crushing for me because we were THIIIIIIIIIIIIS close to leading 2 games to none and then on top of that we took Johan out too early in Game 4 and saw Rincon blow it and ended up with Pat Borders not being able to catch a pitch. 2002 was similar as Adam Kennedy just ruined everything and the Angels boat raced us in the last four games.
  4. I don't think they were even built to win in the regular season. Cleveland wins this division if 3/5 of their rotation and Ramirez don't miss a significant portion of the season.
  5. Taking a PR nightmare (which it wasn't) didn't have anything to do with Theo giving them Torres for a rental. That's the part I was referring to.
  6. How come we never got a guy like Torres when we were trading Aguilera and then resigning him?
  7. Taylor Rogers in place of Odorizzi. Really need to get Gardner out ahead of a dozen righties.
  8. Dear God, Rocco. Why do you feel the need to take Odorizzi out?
  9. And 17 years ago TODAY was the high point of 21st century Minnesota Twins baseball.
  10. Here are some notable Game 2 and 3 starters the Twins have run out in postseason games: Mays, Silva, Bonser, Duensing (Game 1!!!!), and Dobnak. That simply isn't going to get it done.
  11. You became a fan in the middle of the 2002 Oakland series?
  12. This is truly embarrassing. Perhaps Falvine will decide to stick some money into quality pitching this offseason. Or maybe they'll just resign Perez.
  13. My feelings have not changed.
  14. Joe mays > kyle gibson
  15. Relief pitchers continuing to get destroyed.
  16. Considering all the off days, you could legitimately go to any of the other ten pitchers on the roster. Our long men are not good pitchers so they would be lucky to last two innings without giving up a boatload of runs. Graterol, Smeltzer, Stashak, and Littell are all more than capable of going multiple innings out of the pen. I would pinch hit Astudillo over Castro (any time), Cave, Cron, Schoop, Adrianza (certain times such as the aforementioned scenario where we need the ball put in play).
  17. A couple points on my reasoning: nobody is in danger of pitching more than two consecutive days so the 11th and 12th pitchers to me are redundant. The key bullpen guys can literally pitch in every game with all the off-days during the postseason. If Castro is starting, Astudillo gives Rocco peace of mind to pinch hit Garver for him. If we have a runner on third with one out against Chapman, I trust Astudillo to make contact far more than anyone else on this roster. It might not be hard hit but anything can happen if you just put the ball in play.
  18. Bullpenning or no bullpenning, it's still insane to carry 12 pitchers for a postseason series. Astudillo has his obvious faults, but I still think he is far more valuable than at least two of the pitchers being carried (not naming names).
  19. The Cardinals really love unwritten rules which is aimed at marginalizing minorities so I hate them too.
  20. Manager: "This is the game we signed Keuchel for. He is always one pitch away from getting out of the inning." Bullpen heating up as he is throwing a shutout in the 4th and then taken out after a bloop single where Markakis got a late break on the ball. Pretty sure I'd rather have Keuchel out there than anyone else on that pitching staff.
  21. Dankind > Joe Mays
