    I attended this game in KC where we battered Greinke very nicely. Valencia hit a first inning grand slam AND Anthony Slama got an inning. https://www.baseball-reference.com/boxes/KCA/KCA201007260.shtml I expect similar results today.

    Kubel vs Rivera is exactly what I thought off when I heard Kiriloff was on the roster. Even though, to be fair, Kubel has a fair number of ABs in September.

    What is the point of even bringing him up? What could he possibly show in two outings that would make him a more trustworthy option than Rogers, Romo, Clippard, Wisler, Alcala, Duffey, or May? And I'm probably missing a couple from our motley crew of bullpen arms.

    This was an amazing team display of wretched clutch hitting and a manager throwing in the towel in a winnable game. Glad this was treated as a spring training game. And now Rocco wastes another pitcher. Let this guy roast now that you allowed him to give up 37 runs. Can't wait for them to finish third because there has been zero urgency at any point in the season.

    Imagine how excited everyone would be if ALL THREE TEAMS didn't make the "playoffs". The NHL/NBA style playoffs have really made the regular season irrelevant. You only have to be a mediocre team to play on. That said, the White Sox-Indians series was a great series to watch and was really spectacular baseball.

    You can't expect someone like Buxton to steal more than the one base he has this season. He's no Robbie Grossman (who has 8x the amount of SB).

    This is one of the many things that irritate me about Rocco. When Dobnak is getting lit up why is he allowed to throw 20-30 more pitches than when he is throwing a 2 hit shutout? It should be the other way around. Rocco seems to want five innings out of his starters no matter what the game circumstances are.

    There are 16 better options than Homer Bailey on the current roster and that includes Adrianza on the mound.

    How would anyone know? For all we know the Twins starters can pitch 6000 pitches, fly, and cure cancer but they are never asked to do more than the bare minimum. If no one expects more out of you how can they possibly expect more of themselves?

    Taking the starting pitcher out too early... a combination like Trevor May and homers

    I know you should try to get as many innings out of your starters as you can as long as they are effective. That does NOT mean taking them out at 80 pitches after allowing one run in five innings.

    I still would have done Buxton and Lewis for Syndergaard last year, even knowing now that Thor would miss all of 2020.

    Honestly, who could the Twins have added that would have made sense? 7 of 9 position players are underperforming but nobody traded today would have supplanted any of our starters. No starting pitcher is going to be allowed to pitch enough to make any bit of difference and you can add a million relief pitchers but half of them are going to be worthless on any given night anyway. They need to either sink or swim with this roster and philosophy Falvine have assembled.

    It's not even just the bullpen game every 5th day (which I despise). It's that when they do get a good starting pitching outing, they're out after five or six anyway so you're still using 3-4 relievers.
