  1. This has the potential to be one giant disaster for the Nats.
  2. 3-0 count and a fastball right in his upper back. You damn right it was intentional. And Diamond gets tossed for a retalitory pitch that doesn't even hit Hamilton and with no warning from Wally Bell. So in the end, we lose our pitcher, Hamilton goes unscathed, and Oswalt remains in the game. We could make it like the Padres-Braves game from '84 where four guys got ejected for throwing at Pascual Perez.
  3. Intentionally hitting Albert Belle has to be the ballsiest thing ever done on a baseball field.
  4. At any rate, Diamond just earned a little more respect in my book. Just unfortunate it was only 87 mph.
  5. OK I just turned it on right before Diamond got ejected. I didn't see the Mauer HBP. Was it that obvious?
  6. I say sign Mark Madsen and let him chuck up threes.
  7. Having never watched Sano play but reading this and other things about him- would Glenallen Hill be a good comp for Sano?
  8. How many left handed pitchers has he faced since he came back?
  9. I think this is hilarious that he would even attempt this.
  10. That was a great game. I'd say the best in Target Field history.
  11. It's one thing to trade Mientkiewicz to make room for Morneau or A.J. to make room for Mauer because they were good players with limited upside. It's another to trade Morneau, a proven star commodity, to make room for Parmelee who has as many (if not more) questions as Morneau. I'd like to resign him to a 2-3 year deal. Anyone know how much he would command at this point?
  12. Joba thinks that will certainly keep him healthy and a better pitcher because of it.
  13. It is assenine. If they're intent on keeping his innings down, just skip a start here or there. Taking him out of the playoffs would be the worst thing they could do. The playoffs don't come around every year. They need to take every opportunity to try and win while they can.
  14. I think it was definitely too early to annoint him as our 3B savior.
  15. Maybe Deduno is the new Daniel Cabrera?
  16. Does he pitch to contact?
  17. not only can we look at the history of Asians coming over to the States and seeing their numbers drop but we also can look at the history of Americans going to Japan and dominating. There will be outliers with everything but any time Tuffy Rhodes nearly breaks the HR record you have to think the competition isn't quite what it is here.
  18. Greatest video ever. From the song to the Juan Castro pic to the ending credits, A+.
  19. No, there was a play last year where Delmon predictably shied away from the wall and the ball bounced past him and he stood and pointed while Span had to run over from center field. It was the source of lots of mockery, criticism, and possibly a screen cap on BYTO.
  20. Give Nishi credit. He didn't just stand and point at the ball like Delmon.
  21. How is Nishioka not the player of the game?
  22. I kind of imagine we're witnessing what it would look like if the Twins randomly put me in the field.
  23. I'd settle for charging him with errors every time he F's up instead of generously awarding doubles and FC.
