He's not alone. I remember saying that our collapse in Oakland where Cuddyer got thrown out at home on a WP would be a season ender and we still came back to force 163.
I'd much rather have Liriano for whatever we end up paying him than whatever FA(s) we decide to pursue. I'll take his bad for his good over Blackburn's good and bad.
That is literally four guys you can't depend on and possibly five depending on who our new "ace" is. I really don't see how that's any better than this year.

Burton has been our best relief pitcher this season. Perkins WHIP is currently right where it was as a starter. It's above his career WHIP. He still can not be trusted.
Even though he pitched a shutout inning this move is inexcusable. If you're going to take DeVries out it should have been for Burton or Perkins. This was like bringing Bass into one run game after one run game.
104 (now) SB is just a ridiculous figure. It might be more shocking than when the Babe suddenly exploded for 54 homeruns. That's how unheard of that statistic is.
I know Cruz has had some hamstring issues in the past but he was one of the laziest outfielders I've ever seen. And it's not just tonight or the World Series non-play either. He reminds me of Juan Rivera.
If three of the four are very good and we have the same record as last year, I guess that proves that starting pitching is the most important aspect in baseball.
Span is a dime a dozen. He's a good, not great CF that doesn't get on base, hits for no power, and no longer steals bases.
If I was an opposing GM I would not be giving up anything considered valuable for him.
