    I heard that and was shocked. And it wasn't even in the middle of anything, he just opened the half inning by saying this. It's the most scathing thing I've ever heard a Twins announcer say about a Twins actual baseball skills.

    Seriously, Dick, why would he get first base if he struck out when the ball hit him? Never in my life have I seen a catcher pick up the ball after it hit the batter and throw to first base to record an out. I think it's debatable whether Span swung or not but the ruling isn't exactly debatable.

    There should be no reason to trade Morneau whatsoever. When he's healthy, he is our best player. And it looks like he is getting that back. Keep the top six hitters together (seven if you count Plouffe) and try to get a real SP or two and we might be able to make things interesting next year.
