    With the likely carry over players on his first year. Hoffman may have to wait a few seasons but will get sooner rather than later.

    According to Phil Mackey the Twins 'sabremetrics' guy is consulted in every potential trade the Twins make. He didn't say how much influence actually exists, but I thought it was an interesting bit of information.

    Are there still problems that exist between Garza and Anderson? I don't picture Garza returning but that's got more to do with the state of the organization and not a strong dislike of Rick Anderson.

    I'd throw in his wife just had twin daughters and both families live in the Twin Cities. Also, why is it that some players are called loyal for wanting to stick with a team during bad times but others who aren't pounding down the door asking for a trade don't care about winning?

    Liking the manager is all well and good, but something isn't working right and it's not just the lack of talent. The Twins are one of the worst teams in the areas that don't require All-Star caliber talent to perform at a high level.

    TK may have hated it but he used it in 1991. Oh, and just a hunch that no manager likes platoon players, they just understand that it's sometimes part of putting together the best possible lineup.

    I understand why even if he's okay to return. There is a part of me that would have liked to seen at least a pinch hit appearance, just to ease any questions about his long term recovery and readiness for Spring Training.

    I'm not sure why the Twins need to bother with replacing the coaches with the hope Gardenhire leaves. If they want him back than give him a contract if they don't than move on.

    I think Terry Ryan doesn't wants to spend money in free agency because he doesn't know how to.

    Bad team in a nice ballpark over playing in Al Davis Stadium or whatever the hell it's called. The Metrodome with a good team would be a different story.

    The Angels are going to back up the brinks truck to steal Maddon away from Tampa. According to Patrick Reusse a second hand source says it's up to Gardy if he wants to return.

    With the amount of money coming off the books and possibly moving Doumit and Willingham being active in free agent might be a necessity this off-season. Unless of course the Twins are okay with a 60 something dollar payroll.

    You know for sure he'd get hired in 45 minutes? I'd like to think Gardy could catch on with a contender but who knows. The six division titles are nice, but he his post-season record is abysmal. Five times the Twins haven't gotten out of the first round and the last three times they didn't even win a game. You can't place all the blame on Gardy he does however deserve his share of the blame.

    Why are the Yankees 11th? Majors-Really they've overachieved offensively this season. Minors-Rated among the worst farm systems in baseball. Finance-Very unusual for the Yankees but this probably their biggest concern. They want to be under the luxury tax but they have to figure out what to do with Robinson Cano. Management- I think Giradi is a good manager. You know the owners who be willing to spend, but even they have a limit. Never gotten the love for Brian Cashman. Mobility-They've got to be near the bottom in this category.

    I don't think it's worth the risk to bring him back and see him implode a second year in the American League.

    This. Give me 25 Eskimos who can win the World Series and I'll be happy.

    I think that's what's going to happen. He'll keep being one of the best hitters long enough and a combination of peak and career gets him in. I'm guessing that his extra base numbers improve. More home runs hit and more doubles. The legs are fresher for late season games and naturally more games played means more hits.
