  1. Just keep running him out there. Gotta get that confidence up to where he can be effective again. Same as ph Margot. Just the law of average says that sooner or later he's going to get that 1st one. So all the Rocco lovers can say "See i told you"
  2. No consolation prize for putting the ball in play. This is the same guy who bunted on his own with 2 runners on down late in a game. That just oozes confidence
  3. Not if you read all the TD threads. He's a gold glover at 5 positions
  4. Every team is out of options by the 9th 10th or 11th is true. Rocco had 0 options after the 7th. And sometimes as early as the 5th or 6th. Defend him if you want. I don't believe it's a good method of managing. It's a coin toss from a guy who bleeds analytical spreadsheets. When you see 0 Fer 22 do the analytics scream He's due?
  5. A thread from earlier in the week asked the question. How many games has Rocco cost the Twins? Rocco has a habit of emptying his bench way too early in games. He gets the match-ups he wants initially. But then later on in games like tonight he has Castillo, Margot, Martin in situations that favored the Brewers. Did Rocco cost them the game? I won't say it's all on him. But he handcuffs himself time after time in close games. Martin and Margot aren't even a step up defensively. Some will come back with Castillo coming through in his ABs. Yeah. He's a guy I want in those situations numerous times. With Miranda Lewis and Correa out. You have to manage differently. JMO
  6. Stanton may struggle. But Margot doesn't struggle. His average as a ph is ZERO. That's beyond the definition of struggling.
  7. I know his hand stung. But he got burned too
  8. Why can the Guardians avg. 25,000 per game or the Brewers 30,000 per game with a smaller payroll? I don't know what their TV revenue is. But it can be done. It's called marketing. The Twins don't have a marketing dept? Or do they just suck at it. Or have they just damaged the fan base beyond repair. The Angels are terrible. I think they averaged over 40,000 for their 3 game weekend series vs the Twins
  9. Don't forget the Noah Miller trade. Destined to be better than Ozzie. Ozzie Nelson maybe. And how many great young hitters who've been ruined by Twins coaching philosophy. Yet it somehow hasn't affected others. Like Kirilloff. Whom he loves but still spells his name wrong.
  10. Whos not being paid to look like a #1 pitcher sometimes. And it's not every 3rd or 4th start where he's not good. Instead, it's the opposite. Every 3rd or 4th start he might throw a gem. And the ACE hype Train starts rolling along.
  11. No! Just look at his last outing. He's a specialist, right? Vs the Giants he gets the RH hitters but if memory serves me the 2 LH hitters he faced reached base. If your specialty is getting out same handed hitters and you can't do that, then there's problems. He has not been effective this year.
  12. I remember bighat calling for it when he did his free Brock/Bruce/Brooks Lee thread. Sorry I missed yours or I'd have given the proper credit.
  13. He's cost the Twins at least 8 games. And as much as I'd like to show you my work. I can't. The dog ate it while I was fixing the flat tire on my car.
  14. Bighat is going to be calling for his promotion to the show tomorrow.
  15. Didn't he get rocked in his last start? Every one has bad days. K/BB rate is crazy good. Hope it carries over to St. Paul. Good job and good luck. Bighat will be calling for promotion before July ends
  16. Nothing wrong with your discussion. Maybe not the best headline. But after a healthy 22 season he's had planters fascist I tis 2 years running. So as he ages will he be able to remain healthy for the duration of his contract? The Giants and the Mets weren't wrong. 12 and 13 years were crazy numbers that should have never even been offered. The Twins with 6 years isn't entirely risk free. But realistically it shouldn't be an issue.
  17. Yeah, right. Your regression narrative doesn't take into consideration that all the metrics are wrong. Take Kwan for example. The metrics say he shouldn't be doing what he's doing based on past seasons. What they don't take into consideration is that he's a different player. He's worked on adding more pop to his bat. He's no longer a Luiz Arreaz type hitter stroking line drives to left. He's pulling the ball when pitched in. And he's doing it with some thump. Guess who's capitalizing on Kwans success. Ramirez. And this article comes out when Lewis, Correa, Buxton, Miranda, are out or slowed. Are their replacements going to exceed the performance of those guys? And what about regression for Twins players? Oh that's right. That doesn't happen for the home 9. See you next month for the same type article.
  18. So how does that show up on defensive metrics? Margot gets no error on that play, but if he plays it correctly Yaz gets a double for sure. Lee's throw was terrible. And no Duran didn't back up 3rd. So 3 mistakes on 1 play
  19. He was so ecstatic he tripped himself
  20. The FO spies notified him that he was on Chiefs least favorite list. He wants off that list.
