  1. Nice AB by Plouffe. DickBert is right about something.
  2. You need computer glasses. His last 7 day OPS is .660, I used his May OPS since it is a little higher. Didn't want to just cherry-pick to make my argument look better. I get the eye test. I just don't find marginal improvement worth making a big deal over.
  3. Star catchers can't win games by themselves. The Twins have a HOF catcher right now and have barely managed to win a single playoff game in 5 series.
  4. I can see your point I guess. When you look at how Arcia is starting to click, that is what I call improvement. Now, Arcia's defense leaves a lot to be desired lol, but he is starting to get more comfortable.
  5. Great. I really hope this isn't a case where it lingers for 10 days then they finally decide to DL him and get a guy up for 3 games before he is ready. They used to do that with Punto all-the-****ing-time.
  6. Why does everyone keep telling me Hicks is improving? I sure hope a guy that has been left to start in CF doesn't have an OPS of .450 for too much more than a month. I guess he has a .711 OPS for May... mostly due to XBH's. He's still only hitting .185 for the month. Not that average is everything, but his inability to make contact is concerning. Also, I have a big problem with his defense. The Twins made him out to be a potential GG CF. He isn't even close. He gets terrible jumps on balls and doesn't take the greatest routes. We've seen Span, Revere, Gomez the last several years and each of them put him to shame. I get that he has good speed and a good arm, I just feel let down about what was hyped to be a GG CF.
  7. I agree with you about taking Manaea or Stewart Oxtung. I really don't think the Twins will draft yet another toolsy OF with their first pick. They've done that 4 of the last 7 drafts and the OF doesn't need any more help. The first tier of players is obviously Gray and Appel. I'm pretty convinced Gray is going first to the Astros since he will be cheaper. The next tier of guys are all pretty similar I think. They all have minor questions about their future. In that case, you take the guy that has the best chance to be an Ace IMO. Elite pitching wins. The Twins won division tittles with a solid rotation for almost a decade. I have faith they will take Stewart if he's on the board.
  8. I don't believe it. The Twins drafts the last few years have been extremely good. I see them staying true to the philosophy they've had recently and that is targeting top end talent.
  9. You might be right. I thought his stuff looked alright with the Twins. His problem seemed to be nibbling like Slowey did when he first came up. I think the DickBert referenced this too after they read my post.
  10. Homeboy has gone off! Is he here to stay? I really don't see how they can send him down when Mastro is healthy when he is hitting like this. I know Hicks has looked better, but he really has just been better than ****ing horrible. Now, he's just horrible. Needless to say, I wont feel bad about him being sent down. Or they could just DH Willingham, I'd be fine with that too.
  11. Whatever they are doing with Hendriks..... its not working. Let the ****ing guy pitch.
  12. I'm not going to cry foul if he gets the call, I just want to see consistency before he takes a huge step into the MLB. Its hard enough to adjust to this level, makes it even harder when you're still battling back from an injury. I want to see Gibson as much as the next guy. It does no good if he comes up and gets rocked.
  13. No Sano or Rosario again.
  14. Boof Bonser>Jeff Gray>Pedro Hernandez
  15. Gibson is coming off a terrible outing. He needs to have some consistency before they call him up. I love the start, don't get me wrong. I don't want the Twins to bring him up too early. I'm not suggesting he's that far away, but he's been alternating good start bad start all season.
  16. Plouffe and Dozier are fine. Dozier has been much better at leadoff and Plouffe has a .327 OBP and .764 OPS. I expect Dozier's average to keep creeping up and don't think its too unlikely for Plouffe to get north of an .800 OPS pretty soon. Plouffe's advanced metrics are much better than his numbers look. Currently .239 babip, 24% LD rate (that, is impressive), and only 10.5 % HR/FB which was 14% last year. I'm an apologist, can't help it. Plouffe stands for what the Twins have been against for 20 years.
  17. You might need a few more beans in your vanilla.
  18. The OF is pretty stacked for the Twins already. I wouldn't mind taking a flier on him if the Twins wanted to give Hicks some time in the minors.
  19. Man that dude sounds about as vanilla as the way he pitches. Luckily he should be successful doing what he has done for a good while in the majors. I can see him being like Jamie Moyer. Moyer ended up playing in the league for 25 years logging almost 300 wins and 2500 K's despite a career 5.4 K/9 ratio.
  20. I just wish his wife would have come around more often.
  21. The 'Ole RISP argument. This **** never gets old. FML.
  22. Its not about production for Sano and Buxton. The Twins want to see how they adjust to adjustments. They will be moved in another month.
  23. Easily the best they've had. You can't look at the team when it was in D.C., it just isn't the same. This group of prospects is amazing. Next year could be just as good, since only Hicks and Arcia will graduate.
  24. Also, Sano and Rosario with 2 errors a piece today... yikes.
