  1. You are being way too serious right now. I think its against the baseball law to be sober during the HR derby.
  2. If May can learn to stop walking so many guy.... damn. Also, the Twins have a lot of good prospects right now. Crazy number. How many guys will hit 20 HR? Sano, Vargas, Harrison, Walker, Kepler (na, probably not enough time), Colabello. Any more? I wonder what the record is for minor leaguers hitting more than 20 for the Twins.
  3. Sitting here watching Bryce Harper hit makes me wonder how Sano would look right now. I think this topic has been brought up already. I have little doubt that he will be in it some day. How cool would it be to see him in the All-Star game next year.
  4. I don't think anyone can say to my face that Correia or his signing is part of the problem. If anything, he's been part of the solution. Sick of talking about Correia.
  5. How is he not versatile? He did fine in the OF. I still think if he would have gotten comfortable at SS he would have played better. The dude isn't going to be a spectacular fielder anywhere he plays. If he can be a below average SS, he more than makes up for it with his bat. I was never on board with them moving him.
  6. Man, guess we all were overly optimistic.
  7. He needs to see AA by the end of the year. He has enough time to build some arm strength up to about 60 pitches, and by then he should be moved. Especially if some of the AA pitchers get moved up, Wimmers will have an opening. I'd like to see him go to the AFL too, depending on innings. I think a great goal for him would be 80-100 innings.
  8. Too high? Where do you think elite pitchers come from? College is harder on arms than professional baseball by far. Plus, you get to clean up mechanics before they begin to do serious damage.
  9. I think Span will finish the year strong. He's compiled enough data so far that half a season isn't going to finish him. Revere is what he is. To have more value he needs to steal bases and get more XBH. It isn't really a comparison right now with these three. I'd still rather take Span and Revere right now over Hicks, but Hicks has the tools to be better than both.
  10. 1b- Doumit 2b- Dozier SS- Florimon 3b- Plouffe LF- Willingham CF- Hicks RF- Arcia C- Mauer SP- Gibson SP- Correia SP- Diamond SP- Deduno SP- Hendriks RP- Swarzak RP- Perkins RP- Burton RP- Duensing RP- Pressley RP- Fien RP- Tonkin BN- Pinto BN- Escobar BN- Mastro BN- Colabello (might be given shot at 1b) BN- Parmelee Worely might find his way on the roster in front of Hendriks. I post this line-up with the pessimism that TR will not make any real effort to improve the team. Any moves that he does make will be dumpster diving that we couldn't predict.
  11. First bad outing of the year for Felix today. 5 IP 6 H 4 R (3 ER) 3 BB and 6 SO. First 2 innings is where the damage was done. 2 errors in the first scored an unearned run. In the second a single, walk and homerun were runs scored. Seems like he settled down and put up 3 scoreless inning after. Not sure if the errors rattled him early or he just didn't have his usual stuff today. Will have to pay attention to his next start against Bristol (a pretty bad 5-13 record BTW).
  12. Scary? He is still a few months from learning he actually needs surgery. No need to be scared yet; we are still in the rest + rehab phase.
  13. I'm highly doubting that is his fault. Young pitchers are not good at holding runners or making it to home quickly. I could be wrong, but I'm guess it was on the pitcher. Hendriks seems to have found his jock again. Damn fine outing.
  14. I don't see any need to push him too hard right now. If they are going to clean-up some mechanics he wont be moving too fast right away. If he does well enough E-Town isn't out of the question, but he doesn't have the same polish as Berrios did. If I was the Twins I'd want him in full-season ball to start next year, but their plan might be extended spring training to work on mechanics. These first few years are going to be important to get his delivery right.
  15. If you're going, I'm not going.... I'm in Iowa soooo, just felt like throwin some snark in this thread.
  16. I still think you steal my ideas subliminally. At least my ideas will be showing up in BP with cool videos with circles in them (still don't know how you do that).
  17. I really don't think anyone wants to cheer for this team to lose. Just not classy. I don't mind that they lose to get a better draft pick in a season that had no hope from the beginning because the GM doesn't like to sign any FA worth their socks and the current team just doesn't have the talent to compete. But I never cheer for them to lose, just expect it.
  18. This is ridiculous. Plouffe is what he is. He is an average player that can play anywhere you ask. Actually, I think he is an above average 3b, just because of the depth at the position in the MLB right now. A team will always find a spot for a guy that has a proven .800 OPS track record (not quite .800 now, but will be around there at the end of the year I think). Especially since he is cheap. Guys like Plouffe don't just come up all the time. He will never be an All-Star, but he will be solid contributor to any team. I hope the Twins see as much value in him as I do. I believe they do, which is why they gave him a shot last year and got rid of Valencia. Plouffe wont get enough in a trade to make it worthwhile. I've said it before and I'll keep saying it. No GM is going to give up a top 100 prospect for Plouffe, which is exactly what I'd be asking for. A guy in the 75-100 range would be fine for me, but nobody is going to do it. So you keep him. You sign him to a moderate contract like 3 years 5 million and have a guy that has power and position flexibility. Plouffe should be a Twins until he is 32 IMO.
  19. **** it. Whenever I want to tailgate, I just do it. You don't need permission to grill a burger and drink a beer.
  20. I've suggest 4th OF as his floor, considering Buxton, Arcia and Kepler may be the preferred starters. I'm just asking people to be realistic about their expectations for him.
  21. You still should be. To be fair, it does look like he is making progress.
  22. It will be all about OBP for Hicks. If he can get on base enough I don't care what his average is. When Buxton comes up I would rather Hicks play RF than Arcia because of his arm.
