    To break the ice I got my first 2 in vegas when i was intoxicated. After that, what as the difference if I got like 1 or 2 more? Haven't added to that yet. I have a bad habit of getting more than 1 at a time though, maybe its an even numbers thing?

    Does it really matter at this point? I hope the Twins are done giving him starts. I've read he is a great person and the Twins love him, but I just can't see how they can justify giving him any more starts in the MLB. He is just not an MLB caliber pitcher. There are other options to clear from the 40-man if they want to keep him.

    I have a hard time seeing this success continue. He has such a documented history by now that a nice string of starts doesn't alter my opinion of him. I'd rather be watching Albers struggle than Deduno have some success.

    I don't believe the expectation is for him to be an elite guy. I believe the hope is that he can inject some talent into the starting rotation and actually put up a string of nice starts. Currently, that is Kevin Correia. I think the expectation is that Gibson will be something different and hopefully a breath of fresh air. I hope for about a 4 ERA this year. If he does that, I think everyone would be thrilled.

    So who is the real slim shady? I'm not convinced he is going to be good enough going forward to be counted on to be a member of the rotation. At this point he isn't blocking anyone (Gibson is finally up), so it isn't that big of a deal. However, when May and Meyer are knocking on the door I hope he isn't standing in the way.

    Diamond walked a tight rope last year and did it very well. He doesn't have much wiggle room to succeed in this league, and this is showing up big time in 2013. I really hoped coming into this season he could continue on what made him successful, unfortunately it doesn't look like he can. I really hope brief success doesn't get in the way of the Twins better judgment on him.... although I'm sure he will get too many chances.

    Twins have 18 games left in the first half. As Jokin has pointed out, these games are going to be brutal. KC, NYY, TOR, TB, and NYY. They currently sit 34-40. My guess is they go 6-12 to finish the first half 40-52. Extrapolate those numbers to 162 and they finish with about 71 wins.

    What would make teams want to take him now when they didn't last year?

    Felix pitched last night with a final line of 5.2 IP 1 H 3 BB 6 SO. The only run scored on him came in the first when he walked the lead-off man, and a sac bunt followed by a double scored him. So far he has a 1.23 in 7.1 IP 1 H 4 BB and 9 SO. It is early still, but to be moved to Cedar Rapids this year he will have to control the walks.

    That sounds good to me. He's only missed 3 weeks yet only has 61 IP? He has only gone over 6 innings twice in 11 starts. Just seems crazy to me. A month to let his shoulder heal a little should be alright, I'd be sending that MRI to different places and get some different opinions on it though.

    Or the Twins are 1-2 against them on the season....

    Adding Gibson to the rotation will help this win total too.

    Don't agree. Let him work through it. This isn't a physical thing, it is a mental thing and approach. He struggled last season for a stretch at Beloit before finishing strong and will do the same for NB.

    Problem with that is you are counting things against a play that he has no control over. For example, a ball hit to SS is an out with no runners on and a GIDP with a runner on first, but not on second and possibly an RBI if the runner on 3b is fast and it is late in the game with the SS playing deep. See, too many variables to make it credible.

    OBP skills tend to follow a player much better than SLUG. I agree with valuing OBP in young players because it is so difficult to project power in the MLB. I don't know if we are arguing over a point or just having a discussion right now.
