  1. Dear Falvey: Please Dont.
  2. Does his age really matter? He's only under contract for this year anyways. It doesn't matter how old he is, he still only has value for July, August, and September.
  3. I went to the game on Sunday and when they continued to parade in Dobnak followed by Colome followed by Shoemaker, I wanted my money back. Seriously, release Colome and Shoemaker and demote Dobnak. No one on this site understands why all three are still in the majors.
  4. JDM is not to be put in the field. The Red Sox are one team I just can't imagine buying Cruz.
  5. If it makes you feel better, Twins hitters are batting a combined .500 against him! https://www.mlb.com/gameday/orioles-vs-twins/2021/05/24/633982#game_state=preview,lock_state=preview,game_tab=,game=633982 You might argue small sample size, but I remain hopeful! (In case you can't see it by the time you look, Andrelton Simmons is the only guy on the Twins who has faced him and is 1-2)
  6. I think that a message really needs to be sent to the clubhouse. A strong handed bench coach needs to be hired and Sano, frankly, should be cut or traded. This team lacks fire and these guys really need to get some motivation back, and Rocco just isn't getting that done right now. I'll admit my bias in that I hate the Sano three-true-outcome player type anyways. Maybe another player would be better to cut, but I don't find the 3 true outcome players that productive.
  7. SSSSHHHH! Don't tell people that!!!
  8. I kind of chuckled a bit at the thought of Arraez being the "traditional" pick. He is in a sort of manner (the recent wave of thought), but to me Buxton screams more as the "traditional" pick due to his speed. But yeah, I like slotting Arraez at the top of the order. He takes pitches, works the count, and has a high OBP.
  9. That or they want to start collecting the taxes that are associated with everything surrounding the Twins...
  10. I'm curious how many here would sign Buxton to a 4yr/60 MM deal. I realize we aren't GM's, but the crowd wisdom is generally not widely far off the mark. Maybe somebody does it, but I can't see many teams seeing such an injury prone player as a valuable buy @ 15 MM AAV. I'd do 5/50, but I couldn't convince myself to pull the trigger on 4/60.
  11. Yea, but Buxton isn't just fast. He's FAST. Even is he slows down, he's still gonna be one of the fastest players in the MLB. He's a tantalizing player and I wouldn't hate giving him a 5 yr/ 50 million dollar deal. Best case is a 5+ WAR player on a hell of a deal and worst case is an overpaid fourth outfielder who can field and steal bases better then any other OF on your team.
  12. I heard he bought tickets for Titanic 2's maiden voyage...
  13. I feel that in this case it's tougher on the positional prospects then the pitching ones. All these prospects are going to require injuries to occur to get called up. Take Larnach for example. He can only really get called up if there are injuries to Corner OFer's. Sabato for 1B and DH's. The pitchers have a greater probability of getting called up through out the season. That's not even counting doubleheaders and the such where an extra pitcher can get called up!
  14. I mean, a guy who averages 110 OPS+ and has great to elite defense is a stud at just about anywhere on the diamond. Granted that statement is more impactful at C, SS, or CF, but none the less I don't think Kepler is going to be the weak point of this team.
  15. I suspect Nick Gordon is the answer to your riddle.
  16. While I too agree this ranking is too high, I must admit that ranking Cavaco is an impossible task. We've seen almost nothing of him but the Twins took him in the first round for a reason. He's clearly not a failed prospect with only 59 PA's, so I can't really say where I'd rank him. Like I said, ranking him isn't easy.
  17. Everything I can find seems to indicate that his DOB is correct, so his age is wrong in this article. That makes quite a difference between an ETA of debuting @ age 23 v 25.
  18. I really don't want Cave to be a lock. I want the Twins to go sign Kevin Pillar. He'll get plenty of time subbing in Rocco's system, playing as a defensive sub, a better matchup against LHP's, can steal a base if needed. He'd also be perfectly fine to plug in CF if/when Buxton gets injured without a big drop in defensive abilities. He's also got a .784 OPS against LHP, which he has sizeably exceeded the last two years. I like the fit of Pillar so much more than Cave in this roster.
  19. Hot Take Here! Get You're Hot Take! Berrios ranks 21st among pitchers with at least 150 IP between 2019-2020 in FWAR. While's he isn't an Ace, he's also among the top 30 pitchers in baseball. You don't get there by being a #4 pitcher. He's a borderline #1-2, which is exactly as he's described. WAR might be flawed, but it isn't that flawed.
  20. IF he returns to form, I could easily see the Twins alternating him and Rogers @ closer, based on the handedness and order of the opposing lineup in the 8th and 9th innings.
  21. I don't think that what Raley does going forward can do anything but make this deal look better. If Raley turns into Mike Trout, that's a damnation of the Maeda trade, not the Dozier one. But I don't think anybody is regretting the Maeda trade right now.
  22. Sano has just really got to figure out how to cut the K's down. His walk rate is fine, his power is prodigious. But he has less AB's then the other three and at least 99+ K's over the rest. It's killing his #'s.
  23. Why? The Twins would tender him and make him the utility player at worst. Marwin is gone. His bat was quite good in 2019! That's a great player type to take a gamble on!
