  1. How is Wander Javier - (EST) - Injured, early May return - doing? Early May has just turned into middle May on the ol' calendar.
  2. Love your articles on this. Looking forward to the others!
  3. 58 to 62%. That's 4 more first pitches in 100. Doesn't seem very signigicant to me. But 58.4 is 28th, and 62.1 is 9th with 60.6 being league average. I guess those 4 pitches mean a lot. Doesn't seem like it would or should, though.
  4. First base production this year.... .202/.268/.403 with an OPS of .671 AT FIRST BASE! I hope the goal is always to get better, and that starts with tryng to perhaps identify where the help can be directed. All Kirilloff does is hit, and he is 21 already.... and getting old. http://www.espn.com/mlb/team/stats/_/name/min/season/2019/seasontype/2/split/79
  5. Sano's total rehab stint line is now 8/20 with 2 homers, 2 doubles, 2 walks, 8 RBI, 6Ks, hitting .400/.440/.800 with an OPS of 1.240! Hey.... let's not get excited though, I know I won't ...... it's only the minor leagues. Pesky small samples. In 3 days, it could look.........
  6. Cut with the negative waves, man! Sano's comin' and Buxton's just getting warmed up!
  7. Update.......... Sano goes 3-4 with a couple doubles, a sac fly, and no strike outs on Tuesday. In AA still (what's the hold up?) His AA average now at .267 and OPS at.878. But, his rehab stint line is now 8/20 with 2 homers, 2 doubles, 2 walks, 8 RBI, 6Ks, hitting .400/.440/.800 with an OPS of 1.240! Good thing decisions aren't made after one game..... those pesky small samples.
  8. Third base production is dismal! We need much better. Now whether it ends up coming from Sano, or others, it is certainly a need, especially from third base. Plus, he could have a week of crap, and then two days of it clicking in..... that is when someone is ready to go. Slumps in the show are always happening, even to the best. Rosario started the season 0-14 or something, and is in another slump now. Or, we could keep having to give Adrianza at bats, even though we would rather not, but we have to. A hot spring training didn't mean much to his MLB readiness it seems. Player Batting Stats - As 3B http://www.espn.com/mlb/team/stats/_/name/min/season/2019/seasontype/2/split/81
  9. He'll get to AAA, but not yet. After the Monday, May 6th game, for his current rehab stint, he's 5/16 with 2 homers, 2 walks, 7 RBI, 6Ks, hitting .313/.400/.688 with an OPS of 1.088 after Monday's 0-fer 5. Two games with The Miracle, the second being a 4/4, and then promoted to Pensacola. So he is 1-11 in AA, not AAA. But for his 5 games...... not too bad of a line for "spring training". No matter what the totals end up, it will still be SSS and in the minors, regardless of level. I think there is no hurry as well. Give him time. But I certainly am not discouraged after 5 games in rehab. And I think it is all one rehab.... regardless of his level, and it would be prudent to look at the whole SSS picture as it develops, instead of chopping it up to even smaller. http://www.milb.com/player/index.jsp?player_id=593934#/career/R/hitting/2019/ALL
  10. I love surprises. Perez may be the best one of the season. Time will tell, but he is making a statement. AND IT AIN'T QUIET!
  11. All Alex Kirilloff (one r, two Ls, and two Fs) does is HIT! Doesn't matter when, doesn't matter where. He just hits. Hell, he is already 21...... he's getting old. Time to get him up here! We had a Killer on the team once, how about a Kiriller?
  12. He's 5/16 with 2 homers, 2 walks, 6Ks, hitting .313/.400/.688 with an OPS of 1.088 after todays 0-fer. I guess you missed the 4/4 game. I don't know where you are getting your minor league totals from his re-hab stint so far. Maybe you are just considering most recent stop. It is all SSS, but let's be accurate with the totals. Sano has been around the Twins org since 2010. It is really time for him to explode and be a star, eh?
  13. Hinch said you have nothing to worry about with Gonzalez, and he always starts slow. Also, during a Playoff interview..... he said that Gonzalez was the best short stop on Houston! That's saying something. Trading for prospects? Crazy talk.
  14. Both Cave and Adrianza are not needed on this roster. When they are, it becomes a game to put them in a game, even when you would rather not. And they are truly not inspiring pinch hitters. Gonzalez is finally coming on after another slow start, and Sano will be at third. Maybe you lose Adrianza. Maybe not. No big loss (....he did have that homer in the 1-0 Houston game....). Cave has the option. I hope the bats wake up again in Toronto.
  15. It seems there is no confidence in May by management. He is now seems relegated to mop up, pitch when behind, and with the lower tier of the relief rotations. The Yankees were 0-5 against teams with winning records until this weekend. Leave it to our Twins to help them out, and give them a series win against a team with a winning record, and improve their record to 2-6. Onward to Toronto. Gotta win all three to take the season series.
  16. Losing 2 of three, only getting 4 hits today........ against so many subs for the Yankees....... so you think one game and the "curse" is over? Not what I am feeling..........
  17. Great time for Pineda to start to pitch well and take it to his former team, and leave NY with a 2-1 series win.
  18. I remember when Garver and Turner were both in the minors. Those that made prospect lists always favored Turner by far. I never understood it. Always advanced Turner before Garver. I would advocate for Garver, and didn't think Turner, with such a week bat, could ever be the future. Garver was one of the 3 finalista along with Turner for the Johnny Bench award in 2013 (that Turner won) that last year before the draft. Garver all the way, baby. Defense will just get better and better. Turner still can't hit.
  19. "I used to be a good baseball player but the Yankees make me a Chump." https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Yhcrg-bigJY
  20. Are you throwing Mejia (more?) out too? Or is this with all relief pitching, as the other teams are. After all, they probably have at least one reliever they would like to not count as happened, too.
  21. 8 out of 12. (all getting charged to his teammates) .Hildenberger has let in 5, but he is 5 of 19 and 26.3% inherited runners scored, which is not bad (except, perhaps, the reality of it in the games he lets them score). But Hildenberger is on the rise and the ERA has been climbing steadily lately.
  22. At least De Jong is blowing games in the minors instead of the Majors, eh? Is Rooker out indefinitely? Not much time in the lineup after striking out 28 of 56 (50%) at bats.
  23. Great win! I sure hope that Gonzalez can get a couple hits Thursday. It would be tough to go 0-fer Houston (currently 0-18 with 6 Ks and one walk). Rosario too.... he is sure streaky. 11 days ago he was hitting .300 (now .231).Time to get amped up for the Yankees.
