  1. Happ and Pineda getting paid millions more than Berrios and Maeda (yes, Maeda has incentives). Not much justice in baseball sometimes. Rosenthal could be added to the noteworthy names still unsigned......
  2. I hope he does make it to AAA this year. He's already 23.
  3. What does Sano look like these days. Did he swell, or did he get in shape, the best shape of his career....... like he should.
  4. When someone is so massive, like Ober, it always surprises me that they can't get the velo on the ball. Rauch was about Ober's size, and he was low velo, too.
  5. Fun article. It would be nice to see the last two years of Cruz's stat lines if for an edit just to compare it to the others.
  6. "His only postseason appearance came when he entered as a pinch-hitter in the ninth inning of Game 1, representing the tying run with two on and one out, and instantly hit into a game-ending double play." That was nail in the coffin for me. I was so upset to see him get that at bat as he walked out of the dugout. Disgusting. You all probably liked Colon, too. I love that diving catch, though. Perfect for the kids on youtube.
  7. No kidding! Downright abstemious. Frugal. Parsimonious. And Justin Turner still is unsigned!
  8. Yes...... and last year we got....and the year before that.... but THIS day, the day of the post, the day of the comment.... I'm pretty sure we got Hamilton.
  9. ......and we got Ian Hamilton.....
  10. Seems like a long long long time ago now. I immediately thought about the most recent trade for a pitcher with SF, and that Dyson really sucked (intended). I'm thinking hasn't the FO learned its lesson about trading with SF for a damaged reliever. I also wonder how many pitchers you can have throwing the same mix of pitches, the same mid 90s fastball and slider, before it works against you and gives the opponents pitching familiarity.
  11. -Michael Pineda 2yr-20M (still has 39 games left on his suspension) Was it steriods though? No. It was Hydrochlorothiazide, a diuretic. And I guess Casey missed last season altogether. It was a strange season, but Pineda served his suspension. But yeah, Casey, most teams don't really care about the past suspensions, and the Twins are one of them, if the man has proven character, and they can perform. Twitter is the plague.
  12. So the White Sox exchanged Hendriks for Colome, and that is a plus for the Twins? I guess so. They really aren't connected here. Colome is not someone I would be comfortable with in the late innings of a playoff game, but the contract terms are good. I like it a lot better than Gibaut or Waddell.
  13. Tweets like that are not news. Most Tweets aren't. Especially 20 somethings with ego wars. I did not even need to see that. Nobody did, not even Sano and Rosario.
  14. I'm going with the up side, myself. I think 2020 was such a weird year, that whether a player did well (Maeda) or whether they did horrible (Garver), it is not indicative to how the future will go for them. But 2020 is the most recent trend for the hitters, and I hence, my noted concern.
  15. I guess I am one of the only ones that is concerned about this team's offense. Plus in every department and downright dangerous? MLB offensive placements in 2020: 15th out of 30 in OPS, 14th in slugging, 20th in OBP, 18th in average, 22nd in walks, 18th in runs scored, 18th in RBI, 20th in hits, 25th in doubles, last in triples, last in stolen bases, and only in Homers at 6th is there something to crow about. Take NC's stats out of the mix and the most recent season really looks bleak. I hope this offense is as good as eveyone seems to be sure they are.
  16. This team could be very good, and have some breakout players, or they could be pretty bad. Most are just assuming Maeda will have a similar season. He never had a season like that before, and it was only 2 months. Berrios didn't even have time to fade at the end of a long season, and he struggled to get started in a short one. The bats basically ALL sucked, except for a quick start by Cruz, that carried the .500 team the rest of the way. And Donaldson was a complete bust even when he was healthy. Buxton again was absent from the field far too often. This could go real well..... or horrid. I think relying on the present rotation is foolish, especially it you are considering Dobnak a starter. Homer's are optimistic, and so am I at the beginning of each season, but I have lots of trepidation about this team so far.
  17. You know, with all the shifting this team now does, how often does the shortstop actually play short?
  18. Ah.... if it were that easy. Quality arms on the cheap.
  19. Now that is down right depressing.
  20. Bummer. Another almost 40 year old starter to not be excited about. And they will pay him almost 2 million more than Berrios. Must make Berrios feel real valuable.
  21. 2015 was a tough year for the Twins in the drafts. Tyler Jay and Javier. And look at all they missed for less. Ouch.
  22. This means nothing. Hendriks' eyes are getting closer and closer together, and he is only going to decline, starting this year.
