  1. Hey, I have seen crazier things work...... like letting Baddoo play in the Show. The gall of Detroit.
  2. Happ is one of the oldest starters in MLB, and has proved to be exactly what we thought he would be so far in 2021, a solid, average, MLB starter. Well, we are a .500 team. I guess that all fits. I love stats, especially the most important one...... wins. We went after average and comeback and a tossed off closer on the cheap that the Sox and the rest of the league passed on, and this is were we are, early. But hey... nothing a bunch of hits by the offense won't cure (although the offense has already gave them a 6 run lead with 11 outs to go, and that wasn't enough). The #MNTwins have tied or led in the 8th inning of every game this season and are 5-5. That is just devasting.
  3. And then there is the hidden facts that don't get into the stats. Game one... 4 runs scored as unearned, 3 because of Colome's own error, and the other unearned runs that lost the games in extra innings but were devasting.... I remember those facts, too, and whether or not they get factored into the bullpen stats, they happened and counted, eh?
  4. Context, my friend. Please. Don't throw out the context.
  5. Calume? Even when getting defended, he gets no respect.
  6. Because if you give the pitching staff 6 runs.... 6 runs.... that isn't enough and the offense is responsible? Oh. Just ignore today.... and opening day? Where the offense gave the bullpen 5 runs and a 3 run lead with just 3 outs to get? And the 3 extra inning debacles.... not once could the pitching staff hold for just one inning?
  7. Losing record at home for the home fans. And just sickening loses. They all count. That's why one should care. Because there is no such thing as it doesn't matter.
  8. Unfortunately, unearned runs count just and much, and have lost 3 of the 4 games, and some were kinda earned.... Colome first game on his own throw and bonehead decision.
  9. How many games is Baldelli gonna let Colome lose for us this year? So far, Colome has given up the lead, the tie, or the lead and the game, in the 8th and 9th innings, in 33% of all the games the Twins have played in 2021, and in 75% of all our 4 losses. SSS? You can only use what you have, and that is the reality of it all right now. I cringed at the signing, and I dislike it even more now. If they keep going to Colome, it will only get worse. Even his 2 saves were cringe worthy. First the FO went with Rodney, and now this. This is what so called pitching development experts give us?
  10. I think I am with you.... but there is Alex(ander) Colome, and Danny Coulombe (who we also signed to a minor league contract this off season), but who is this Columbe guy? After the double after the lead off homer in the 6th, that was the pull time for Shoemaker. Absolutely. As much as I have little hope and faith for Dobnak, that was the time to put him in for a long relief outing, maybe to finish the game if he held. I guess Baldelli is not so keen after the Dobnak mess the last outing in low leverage in the ninth. And the pitch to Seager that Shoemaker was still complaining about after giving up a double, single, and another home run, and finally got tossed 3 runs later? Clearly a high pitch, by at least 6 inches.
  11. It helped the Mariners plenty. I think that was the point.
  12. The first loss was mostly a blown 3 run lead by the multiple blunders of Colome in the 9th. And when the Brewers and the Tigers and the Mariners did score in the 10th..... we had no one in the bullpen that came and and set them down 1-2-3. Not one out of 3 times.
  13. Does Sano have any options left? Oh, that's right, minors hasn't even started yet.
  14. Luck prevailed on that two inning outing. Didn't help my blood pressure.
  15. I would love to see someone come up and blow Sano away. Wishes and reality are two different things. So far, nobody has even been able to replace Rosario, who arguably had better results than Sano. So I keep wishing. Wishing for Sano to actually become a complete consistent ball player, or for someone to dramatically displace him. In the mean time..... I will see a lot of Ks, this I know for sure.
  16. I hope you are right. I have come to think Baldelli is incapable of making a gut call, and only relying on the "books".
  17. Not my baseline. But it seems your projection. Just part of the Sano story. I don't mind disapointment, and I don't deny it, either. Makes the highs higher. When you are a great player by failing 70% of the time.... to be a baseball fan, you have to embrace a long life of disappointment.
  18. Well...... top prospect in MLB through the minors, has a movie made about him.... hype hype hype. Of course the world then expects him to be a HOFer. And why not? He was entitled as he rose and now it is time to be what he was meant to be. I don't see it as unfair. He got every opportunity, every benefit of the doubt when it came to other distractions, and the money. I don't think it is unfair to expect him to deliver at all.
  19. Regardless of how small...... I agree. Worrisome performance by Sano. Hard to watch.
  20. Good on Baddoo. A fun week/weekend for him and his family. Did the Twins make a mistake? I not buying at this point. But hot is hot. And he is on fire to start.
  21. So speedy Polanco can't be sent from second but Cruz can from first. Looks like Diaz got a talkin' to..... The sure thing is..... that if you don't send the runner, he definitely can't score.
  22. If he hadn't been taken, he wouldn't have even started playing yet, and the Twins would have trapped him in the low minors in some A ball all season probably, and it would have been a waste. All these so called "experts" that say a player isn't ready. Baddoo is proof that some are, and the only way you find out is to get them in the show sooner than later to see. Too bad he couldn't have stayed unhurt and played the last two years.
  23. But really, how impressive is it?.... I mean.... Dobnak was pitching.... 5 players the Twins gave up on in this Detroit lineup! (Not saying that they should have kept them, except for Ramos at the time). And they got 6 of the 8 Detroit hits today. 4 of them feasting on Dobnak in the 9th for 4 runs. With 2 outs! That is pretty weird.
  24. Great offense. Cruz is ageless. Where are all those that didn't want to sign Cruz again, now? Really happy for Shoemaker to get a fine first outing. Dobnak? I have been saying he was fools gold before he started to fail last year, so it doesn't surprise me at all that he can't match his ST when the games actually count. Good luck to him and us. I hope he doesn't cost us too many games this year. Same with Colome.
  25. It is just so depressing that Donaldson can't even run past first base to start the season without coming up lame. Diet? Yoga? Hydration? Massaging legs constantly in dugout? What a waste.
