Moral victory we didn't get no hit or shutout today!

Don't worry be happy, a few jokes and game of hopsctoch or marbles in the dugout all will be ok!

Gameday is playing a joke right? Tie the game give up 2 homeruns, sigh.

Are the guys having fun yet?

Steinbach could do the job for the rest of the year. If Red can do it and all the other catchers turned managers Steinbach can for half a year.

Has Dick used the "if we can pick up a few wins before the All Star game we can get back in race" line yet?

The bigger question on my mind is do the Pohlad brothers really even care what's going on with this team as long as they keep making money? If the owners were also fans I think things would have changed before now.

Any trade that gives them salary relief has great value so we can get the Pohlad brothers off food stamps!!

Gardy doesn't have a lot to work with seems to be a common statement. Well look at the all-star teams. He was so proud the other day about all the good players he had had. Yet the Twins have not won a playoff game since 2004 (that's 10 years) and are on a 0-12 run with 2 1/2 years of really bad baseball but none of it is Gardy's fault? Not saying it is all his fault but after all this failure don't you at some point have to move on?

166-244 a -78 over the last 2 1/2 years and a 0-12 playoff record going how many managers would still have a job?

165-241, -76 over the last 2 1/2 yrs would likely get most managers fired.
  13. Winston Smith
Why wouldn't all the Twins be on the table or are we still playing the "we can still get in the race" idea?
  14. Winston Smith
This at least gets people talking about something other than how Gardy's team is playing!

I was a catcher for most of my youth and see nothing wrong with what Gomes did. He was giving Doumit half the plate to slide into and trying to catch the ball. If Doumit slides, like he should, there is nothing to even consider here.

"Our Twins are a bit more cautious and generally are not at the forefront of new movements...." where did you come up with a crazy idea like that?
  17. Winston Smith
Well he has been consistent unlike Gibson!

165-238 over the last 2 1/2 years, poor play is a common occurrence!

6 games out? Right now the Tigers and Indians are on pace to win 87-88 games. For the Twins to win 88 games they must go 52-32 the rest of the way a .620 clip. Going from having the 8 th worst record to the best. What have you seen out of this team to make you think that could happen?
  20. Winston Smith
Have you looked at what our leadoff guys have done this year?
  21. Winston Smith
It's not like they traded our best outfielder and leadoff guy guy for Meyer.
  22. Winston Smith
One thing to remember is that Joe is still in his prime and all these guys have those failing final years added in. A lot of great hitting catchers all with their own pluses and minuses. Campanella, Cochran, Dickey, Bench, Piazza, Yogi, even Carter and Fisk.
  23. Winston Smith
"You've got to be very careful if you don't know where you are going, because you might not get there." Yogi Kind of sums what happens with prospects because a lot them don't get where we had hoped.
  24. Winston Smith
Didn't say there was. You made it sound like AG was making stuff up to suit his point, what he said was true nothing more on my part.

When Slowey made the reference to Sisyphus, Dick and Dan disowned him for being a smarty pants. The Twins media does not like smarty pants!!
