  1. A big assumption when you are talking about $20M a season.
  2. Was there a responding move for Berrios being promoted?
  3. Quick judgement wouldn't you say? Deadline has barely passed and they have a game in an hour.
  4. Millone to the pen, Duffy back to the rotation. Edit:Here. I knew I a saw it somewhere, had to find it
  5. I'm sure they aren't too happy not having him in the lineup today
  6. I'm sure that has nothing to do with the pitchers who has thrown to him......
  7. I don't see how people can't like the Abad deal. 1. He is 30 and a minor league signing this offseason.........with much scrutiny coming when the signing was announced. 2. There are several arms in the minors many posters have been more or less demanding get a spot in the pen. 3. They got a former 1st round pick, who is left handed and can hit triple digits. I understand the command issue but also the upside
  8. I wonder how much of Lucroy nixing the trade to Cleveland affected Suzuki staying in Minnesota
  9. If he was a free agent at the end of the season I would agree with you. But he's not.....which means he has value BEYOND this year for the Twins.
  10. Or when the other team doesn't give up what you want. I'd rather see Santana as a Twin at the end of the day rather than a sub-par package for him.
  11. Hrmm.....Toronto trades for Scott Feldman from the Stros instead. Thinking that probably kills Santana to the Jays.
  12. Wow! Good call, I am following them both...well I was.
  13. Buster Olney ‏@BusterEPSN Source: Ervin Santana to Blue Jays. Waiting to hear back on return. A lot of smoke....
  14. Finding trades and getting good value for your trades are two separate things. I understand the need to get Jorge playing time in the field and at bats, but if that has to come at the expense at selling low on an asset, is it worth it? I think it has been very well noted that right now, teams in contention looking for pieces are pretty set at 2nd Base and that Dozier has 2 years left on his deal. There are a lot of options other than trading him right now for the best you can get, IMO.
  15. I hadn't heard that, I read he wanted his team option for 2017 taken off the contract which wouldn't make much sense for Cleveland. Either way, I hope this opens the door for Antony to get Cleveland to overpay for Zuke.
  16. Super curious to see the package the Brewers get for Lucroy after all the talk we have had on here over the last 2ish years. Rosenthal reporting from a source that he is headed to the Indians......we shall see.
  17. I won't broach the Santana at 3B topic because I don't get it, but at least Polonco is in the lineup...even if it is at DH.
  18. Teams that rebuild well get value for their players, especially for cost controlled veterans. If the market for Dozier isn't there and you have him for 2 more seasons....there should be no rush to get rid of him. The Twins not trading Dozier doesn't mean they are admitting they aren't bad. You don't get rid of asset, just to get rid of them. The same goes for Santana. At least IMO.
  19. From everything I have read he has been a total butcher at SS. I know Nunez wasn't great, but to say Polonco will be an improvement is probably just complete guess work at this point.
  20. I think the tweet was along the lines of Anthony is still under contract for 2017 and even if he wasn't selected for the new GM, he could still have a spot in the organization. I can only imagine a GM bringing in his own guys, but this team has surprised me before.
  21. Where are you trading him to? What are you we getting for him? I'm pretty sure most Twins fan know the competent CF's don't grow on trees.
  22. Mike already posted this in the Fangraphs thread, btw.
