  1. Most interesting part. So much of the minors is pedigree, and it makes it all that much more interesting when a guy who "shouldn't" make it actually does. Or a guy like Colabello who most people wouldn't have given a snowball's chance in hell.
  2. Is this where we say "Oi, oi, oi!"? Are you from Melbourne?
  3. We're not in a rush. Ask me again in a year or two.
  4. I'm a world record holder!!! ...or something.
  5. I don't really want your blood, but thanks. (Also, I don't think it's this year.)
  6. I'm happy to be wrong about Kubel, I just hope it lasts.
  7. I agree with all about the quality of this article. Just top-notch stuff. And congratulations to the author for getting picked up by ESPN. I for one think Colabello's story would make a pretty compelling book. Maybe we're a few years away yet from that point, but I'm over here sharpening my pencils...
  8. That was ...well, that was exactly what I expected it would be.
  9. Guys, this can only be a win for us. We parlayed Drew Butera, a guy who was never going to sniff the majors, for a real honest-to-God major leaguer. Sorry, what's that? Drew played in the major leagues? For what team!? What!? For how many years!!!???
  10. Look, I'm as concerned as anybody after the first handful of games. Lots of un-Mauer-like swings. But the answer to your question is yes.
  11. I'll be there. Brother-in-law bonding time. I'll also be there on Thursday. I'll also probably go on Wednesday because it'll be beautiful and I work from home. See you all there!
  12. Can I just say that Colabello now leads the league in RBIs by a pretty wide margin. Let's bask in this while it lasts.
  13. Plouffe barely touched the plate. Poor slide, but I'm happy to have the insurance run.
  14. I noticed that too. Not sure I saw him do that successfully last year. Good on him.
  15. Worst. Law firm. Ever. also can we be done with the Bartlett in left field experiment? Please?
  16. Hey, the Russian judge loved it.
  17. I'd make an Andrew Albers joke but I don't think a complete game shutout is in the cards.
  18. Hicks looked pissed. As as he should, he knows that was a bad look.
  19. Fun legal fact: a riot generally requires either disturbing the peace/criminal mischief with two or more or three or more people. However, in Alaska, you can't be criminally convicted of rioting unless there are six or more people involved. So if you and four buddies want to tip over cars and light them on fire, I suggest you do it in Alaska.
  20. If you're being serious, grey is considered the British spelling. Its a bit more complicated than that as each is an acceptable variant in each place, but most Commonwealth countries, including Canada, prefer grey. We Americans prefer gray. Of course, we could just chuck the gray/grey duck thing and play Maverick, Maverick, Goose.
  21. If you haven't been, absolutely go to Ravenna. You can see the sadly ignored Byzantine and even Gothic Italy. If you're I to mosaics, I think Ravenna has the best of their kind in all of Italy. Also, Mauer!
  22. It took me a few minutes. But I got there.
  23. How was Baku? Seems like it'd be a different world (though Turkey was one my very favorites and it's a different world too.) Is this indoor volleyball or beach?
