  1. If Cousins wants the money, that’s fine. I’m not criticizing him for that. However, I want to win a SB. I think most fans do as well. If he doesn’t want to win a SB, he can go make his money elsewhere.
  2. If I was a QB and wanted to win a SB, I would. Because winning a SB when your QB takes up $40M+ of your cap is nearly impossible. Take a look at the following statistics. No QB taking up $40M+ of the cap has won a SB in the last 20 years.
  3. His team has a lot of holes that need to be filled, maybe some of that money could go elsewhere?
  4. Interestingly enough, here’s a list of the last 20 SB winning QBs: Stafford, 2022: $20M Brady, 2021: $28M Mahomes, 2020: $2M Brady, 2019: $15M Foles, 2018: $4M Brady, 2017: $14M P. Manning, 2016: $19M Brady, 2015: $19M Wilson, 2014: $1M Flacco, 2013: $7M E. Manning, 2012: $9M Rodgers, 2011: 6.5M Brees, 2010: $13M Roethlisberger, 2009: $28M E. Manning, 2008: $13M P. Manning, 2007: $10M Roethlisberger, 2006: $10M Brady, 2005: $6M Brady, 2004: $9M Johnson, 2003: $5.5M Only two QBs in the past 20 years have won a SB whilst making more than $25M. Two out of twenty.
  5. https://sportsnaut.com/kirk-cousins-no-interest-in-pay-cut-could-get-40m/amp/ So Cousins wants to play here but he won’t take a paycut when it would really help his team out. What a leader!
  6. This is a statement I definitely agree with, and it’s why I think Falvey and Levine get much more of the blame for 2021 than Baldelli. I guess yeah, I was wrong to say that very few losses were tied to in-game management. I guess, in a way, every loss by any team is tied to in-game management. But I don’t think it’s fair to say that Baldelli is out-managed regularly.
  7. You’re really going to need to elaborate on this one. Few of the losses this year had much to do with his in-game management.
  8. I don’t think either of these statements are correct. Donaldson was expected to get more around 4 years/$110M, and the Twins got him for $18M less. He’s lived up to the contract he was given. The Twins didn’t make a mistake. On the other side of that equation, the Twins looked to be a team going for it in 2020. I don’t think it was foolish for Donaldson to come here. Obviously they came up short in 2020 and then Falvey and Levine made a series of ****-ups that resulted in the disaster of 2021. Maybe it will ultimately be a mistake, but in Donaldson’s case it made sense at the time.
  9. It’s literally impossible for him to not be
  10. Baldelli has been heavily praised and heavily criticized by Twins fans all over the internet. In 2019, he won MOTY, yet two years later people were calling for his job. This brings up the question: What do Twins fans think of Baldelli as a whole? Where do you think Baldelli ranks all of the other among MLB managers and why?
  11. 1) I read Front Page content here for about a year before I registered. I thought the content was really good and I wanted to start commenting on the forums. 2) What keeps me here is forums and the community. I don’t do as many blogs, but they also play a role. I enjoy creating forum topics about the Twins on this site, mainly because I love the Twins. 3) I’m not sure what exactly should be added in terms of new features. I always love new stuff, so some new toys to play with when creating forum topics would be nice.
  12. I’m currently sitting in utter bafflement as to why he would even go poking around that locker room. He’s an executive for ****’s sake.
  13. Wish Petty the best and hope he becomes a big time arm for the Twins one day.
  14. If the Twins were to trade one of them, I’d much rather see Sanó go than Donaldson. I don’t think I’m the only one who thinks that. The problem with trading Sanó is that it’s going to be quite hard to find a trade partner.
  15. Rules: 1. Memes only. No words. 2. Everything must be safe for work 3. Snark and sarcasm are welcome; disrespectfulness is not
  16. No I agree, I want the Twins to get him.
  17. Maybe but don’t forget about the red flag that he plays in Coors. Defensively he’s superb but you probably won’t get the offensive production out of him as a Twin than the offensive production that we’ve seen from him as a Rocky.
  18. @TwinsDr2021 @Major League Ready enough. Please return to the topic at hand.
  19. The point I was making with the trades thing is that the fact that no major trades have happened anywhere in the league invalidates the idea that “smart teams knew there would be no offseason after the lockout.”
  20. Didn’t he want to go to Philly, though? I can’t remember the reason exactly but I do remember he had Philly in mind.
  21. We trade Berrios and Cruz for prospects. Those moves were asset management in a lost season. They were not “long term rebuild” moves. Moving Cruz was a no brainer. Berrios wouldn’t sign here for some reason. We may never know why, but unless we do we can’t draw conclusions about the trade. You are the leaders of a multi-million dollar operation, shouldn't you be in tune with what is going to happen before and after a lockout? I know they can't predict the future, but it seems that a majority of F.O.'s took a look andunderstood the lockout was not going to end before spring training, and acted accordingly before the lockout started. This would be a valid argument but you forgot about trades. No major trades have happened. If everyone knew there would be no offseason after the lockout, major trades would’ve happened. They happen every offseason. The losses of some of our talent for next to nothing is sad. We essentially received nothing for losing Wade, Baddoo, pitchers Ynoa, Reed, Anderson, and Littel. I think Ynoa was sent to the Braves for Jaime Garcia, then traded to the Yankees for Littell...who is stillgone. That is some serious depth lost right there. This is a fair argument. Their internal talent evaluation seems flawed. I guess my long winded question is, does this front office have what it takes to evaluate our organization as a whole (or baseball as a whole) and lead us to success? Technically they’ve already been successful. Three playoff births in five years, two division titles. They did that after inheriting literally the worst team in Twins history. Remember that they improved the pitching staff every year from 2017-2020 before last season happened. In addition, they have stocked the pitching farm. A big part of whether or not they’ll be able to take us to the next level is for the farm to produce. They have dealt with some injuries and a lost season in 2020, which has slowed the development down. 2022 is a critical year for them. As for a World Series? Well, I think a lot of that comes down to the pipeline producing. If the pipeline can produce like Cleveland’s pipeline has (courtesy of Falvey) then maybe they’ll go all in then. Will they do that? That remains to be answered.
