  1. I never said they were. They definitely deserve credit for it. But given the way that they played in the three playoff games that year, pretty much nothing the front office could’ve done would’ve changed the results.
  2. They scored 2.3 runs/game, allowed 7.7 runs/game, and committed several errors in the field in that series. One or two players would not have made the difference between them winning or losing that series.
  3. They were blasted into bits on all sides of the ball in the playoffs in 2019. Adding MadBum might have caused the Twins to give up fewer runs but they still would’ve scored 2.3 runs/game. You don’t beat a team like the Yankees when you play like that.I’m not letting them off the hook. Not at all. I’m just pushing back on the notion that them not trading a prospect in 2019 is the reason they didn’t win a playoff series that year. Should they have traded a prospect in 2019? I think it was the right thing to do. I realize I misstated your position, in which I apologize.
  4. That is not relevant to the topic at hand. Stop harping on the past. Plus they weren’t one or two players away from winning a playoff series in 2019 or 2020. They were virtually a whole team away.
  5. Let’s hold our horses, folks. Just because the Red Sox are a contender for Story doesn’t automatically mean the Twins should just give up. Remember when Buxton was almost 100% being traded?
  6. Four teams remain in the race for SS Trevor Story. This includes the Giants, Red Sox, Twins and Mariners. The article can be found here.
  7. I can’t imagine Rodgers is happy about this… Blame that big-ass contract he just got.
  8. I said 70-79. I think that could go way up if they land Story and another SP.
  9. Bills just signed Von Miller to 6 years, $120M.
  10. The Twins appear to be eyeing up Free Agent SS Trevor Story a day before the beginning of Spring Training. This thread is for updates and discussion on the Twins’ chances to get Story.
  11. Most lifelong fans don’t have years of experience working in the MLB. That alone makes them unqualified for the GM position. There is some luck involved with getting a job in the MLB, but the people who are selected for the GM position are not selected at random. They are selected because they’re the most experienced and they’re the best at their job. The same is true for Falvey and Levine.
  12. None of this at all supports the notion that most fans are more qualified for the position than Falvey and Levine. You’re saying the job itself is easy? Are you ****ting me? How can you say a job is easy when you’ve (I’d assume, correct me if I’m wrong here) never actually done that job yourself?
  13. Amazing how none of them could get a job in the MLB but the “clueless” Falvey and Levine could. What an odd world we live in.
  14. His Fastball/Curveball Spin went from 90th Percentile to 80th Percentile last year with the substance ban.
  15. Ok fine…yeah, I didn’t think that one through. They may really believe in Jose Miranda. But if that’s the case, they really sold low on Donaldson (as in they didn’t get much back for him). IDK. Maybe they’ll spend $40M in free agency over the next few days, maybe they won’t.
  16. I was thinking it was to make room for a pitcher that they would acquire via trade.
  17. Do we know for sure that they’re just pocketing the cash and not reallocating it?
  18. Gray is aging, but he’s still a good pitcher. I don’t think he’ll be as good as he was in 2019, but he still has been solid. Here are his 2021 Baseball Savant rankings: Hardly an “innings eater”
  19. They do have Miranda ready to replace Donaldson. I think they want to allocate the Donaldson money towards a starting pitcher they bring in via trade.
