  1. Murphy seems to feel that Parmalee will replace Morneau, I feel it is wait and see. If Parmalee gets off to a slow start, Arcia rakes in Rochester and Morneau hits well here it is time to extend Morneau, bring up Arcia and exile Parmalee as one of those great AAA hitters who cannot make it in the big time.
  2. Posts 41 [h=2]Spring Training OVER/UNDER[/h] Hey folks, figured we could start something new to perk our interest up during ST this spring. 3. I do not think this rotation will be average. We can hope for a collective ERA of about 4.50 That would be better than last year, now if we can score enough runs to make us competetive with that starting ERA. For that we would need at least a couple of the question marks to come through(CF, RF, SS,2B,3B). Make that at least 3 to 4 of the question marks.
  4. I would love to se Gibson here, think it would take two starting pitcher injuries to make it happen. List looked reasonable, but think Twins will carry a third lefty and Swarzak will not be here(also hopefully Burnett). Expect Twins will give Pressly every chance to make it (50%), also Wood and Ronikie. Also hope Butera will not make it(50%) and Twins carry an extra outfielder.
  5. Twins are expected the fans to come back when the team wins. Money will be added when the team starts winning. We all hope.
  6. This is a sort out year anyway, do not risk his future to rush him back. Just more opportunities to find what we have in the upper minor leagues. At least Rochester will have a good rotation.
  7. Brignac has had sucess in the minor leagues. Would not cost us much as a utility infielder, may be better than Escobar or Floriman. Could hold position for a year or two until the minor leagues arrive.
  8. Agree with Seth, no way. Buxton is way too valuable. Outside of the 1 year rule.
  9. Nothing is going to change this year. This is the year to find out what the Twins have and where they need replacements. I expect a great deal of roster turnover this year, trading deadline and maybe some spring training deals. There is no difference except to the blood pressure if the Twins lose 85 games or 99 games. This year is going to be about finding talent. Butera will be gone at the end of it anyway, so live with it.
  10. Interesting that Harden was not mentioned in this thread. We can always hope they will be better, but gave a fair amount of offense to get there, slight plus in my mind, but unless some offensive players step up, scoring runs could now be a issue.
  11. If he ranks that high hope we can keep him. He can replace Swarzak and see what happens.
  12. Expect he will start in Rochester, though he could be here. Other options will probably say he starts there. Expect him in about June or July if he performs well. Not my choice would rather have him start here, but just reality.
  13. Probably wanted 2 years to come here. Also Seattle is looked at as being better than the Twins.
  14. I am thinking about 72. We should be competitive against most teams, will struggle against like the Tampa Bay and others with very good pitching staffs.
  15. Hopefully he will tear up the FSL and make it to New Britain this year. Nice article.
  16. It was about time. Hopefully some of them will show up starting in 2014 for the relievers.
  17. Not a good move on his part. I see Rochester in his future.
  18. Cuellar is being brought in to help with the younger pitchers(especially the young Latin American pitchers). Twins need all the help they can get with pitching. I suspect Cuellar will help get more out of this staff than Anderson could.
  19. Glass half full or half empty. Starting pitching could implode again and Twins could lose 100. Worley does not recover from surgery, Pelfrey is toast, Correra is reincarnation of Marquis, Diamond regresses to second half pitcher. Center field and middle infield are black holes on offence. Twins trade remaining big contracts in midseason to aid in restocking farm system(Morneau, Willingham). Other side is starting pitching is only slighty below average, Hicks, Parmalee and Pouffle become major offensive aids and the bullpen is solid so the Twins finish around .500. This is what makes baseball interesting and why you play the games.
  20. Parmalee is the key. A slow start could doom his career. That will make the decision on whether to trade Morneau.
  21. A lot of this we will see in spring training. I do not think Parmalee is a sure thing, so I expect Arcia to be here this year. Trade Morneau if Parmalee looks like the replacement, bring up Arcia if Parmalee is not. This is Parmalees last chance to impress. Twins will try and resign Morneau if Parmalee does not shine. Hope they push Rosario a little more. Defense could be an issue in not pushing, but Twins need him here sooner than later. Middle infield is a black hole at this time.
  22. Twins have some prospects at A or AA ball. Rosario and Santana along with Levi Michaels. It is possible some of these will be ready in 2015 or maybe 2014. Here is hoping that happens.
  23. This is what this season is about. Could be like 2000. The Twins need to figure out what they have and who can help them next year. So if this year is lost, we will have a much better idea of what the Twins have coming quickly next year.
  24. It nice to have some pitchers on make good contracts, maybe one of them will actually make good.
  25. I think he will turn out to be younger than 23. That will subject him to the international cap. Twins should try and sign him anyway, but may restrict them from signing other talent they are aware of. Sounds like agent is trying to game the system.
