  1. Normally a loss like this would sting/be a bit heartbreaking and frustrating. Instead, I really could care less, it doesn't make a real difference in this season, it's a really really really bad sign that I (and a lot of fans) are already apathetic in the middle of May! In a year where we were supposed to contend. Ugh.
  2. Can the Twins win 60? If all goes nearly perfect for Sale, he could win 32-34, things could get dicey down to the wire....
  3. Who cares about using an option year (I don't think it works that way anyways) May should be in the majors from here on out anyways (once he gets stretched out)
  4. nothing is sad about that. It's sad that it would take that to happen to actually put may back in the rotation (when nearly every GM not named Ryan would have already done it)
  5. $$$$$ pride, ego etc
  6. When Torii Hunter is brought out of retirement and signed back to the Twins to "fix" things. (Note: as a player, not a GM....hopefully) I'm going to say June 15th, which gives him a month to get in shape.
  7. Sadly I think the only shot May has this year to start is for Ryan to be fired. Ryan is way too stubborn to ever actually admidt he was actually "wrong" so thus we are stuck with Sano in RF, May in the pen and Hughes in the rotation all year long. It's just so so so stupid that May is still in the bullpen. What is amazing is its not even the stupidest roster decision currently playing out on this team, which of course is Sano in RF.
  8. Plenty of topics! How many years will they extend Suzuki for? How many more former no hit twins will they pick up off the waiver wire?
  9. 1.000/1.000/4.000Should get them to 4th place at least
  10. Uhhhhhhhhhhhh. No.
  11. Antony really has no business being anywhere near any important "baseball" decisions, he might be more to blame than Ryan to be honest. (Who shoulders his fair share of the blame no doubt) I wonder how things may have went differently if they gave Smith a few more seasons, the Young trade etc didn't work out, but at least he had the guts to make some aggressive moves. I doubt he would have signed/resigned Suzuki and signed Nolasco and Santana for starters.
  12. watching this team gives me the same feeling as eating chipotle....
  13. I would move Hughes to the pen until he figures it out, I would trade Nolasco and pick up 80% of his salary, I would trade Plouffe for anything. I would send may to AAA to get stretched out, bring him back as a starter, let Meyer start, Sano to 3rd, recall Buxton. Trade Nunez, put in Polanco.
  14. Yeah good point. I mean I hate flying coach, but that is because I fly 100k miles a year, so I totally get not wanting to ride in the main cabin. However there is no reason why Pitino can't fly biz class somewhere, that still is thousands and thousands cheaper than a freaking private jet. Which reminds me, I sat next to the Arizona Coyotoes GM (old Rangers player) a couple years ago on a southwest flight, if he can fly southwest, little Pitino can fly business class at the very least. Again, if you want to be a prima Donna coach, and waste all this money, you better damn well be winning, if you aren't winning you should keep it in check, to say the least.
  15. Wow this is a great point, I didn't even think of that. More frustrating is that Molly will pull Sano defensively quite a bit, but than wont pull Arcia? What gives!
  16. Plouffe is the definition of an average player, one that plays a non premium position. Couple that with a 7 mil pay day and only one more year of arb and you realize quickly that at no point will teams give up a whole lot to get him. They need to trade him for anything they can get at this point, I would be happy with a top 300 prospect with some upside.
  17. Screw flying coach! The private jet stuff wouldn't bother me too much to be honest. The returning rental cars with empty tanks is just a d**k move frankly. Of course, none of this would even matter if Pitino could actually win a few games, which he can't, so it looks pretty bad for him TBH.
  18. Here was what I said: Coming into the offseason this was my personal top choice on what to do. Very very team friendly. We could be looking back in a few years as it being an absolute steal. DOH! At this stage, looking back, it's not a terrible deal assuming that Hughes can eventually get back to being a 4.00 ERA type guy. However, he has certainly fallen off a cliff and things are concerning now. Also I think we were all pumped because Hughes was the first FA signing we had had in quite a while that was "working out" The Nolasco deal, Suzuki deal, Lack of Catching Depth, Lack of CF planning, lack of signing an actual front of rotation type and lack of BP planning are more damning IMO anyways.
  19. Pohlads should fire Ryan+Antony+Radcliff+more, THEN hire McPhail, who hasn't been in Minnesota for quite some time. He has rebuilt Philly pretty quickly IMO
  20. Back up the brinks truck to Andy McPhail, bring him in to be pres. Let him pick out the rest of the guys.
  21. whoa whoa whoa, the twins have had a 3 run lead at some point this year?
