  1. Yeah I don't know where this Sano injury thing is coming from, he bounced back pretty quickly from TJS as well....
  2. Yeah, they nee to trade him ASAP while he has some value. I would be trading Plouffe ASAP as well. Santana can be the Util guy in meantime.
  3. Danny Valencia has a .948 OPS Unreal!
  4. Seems like a terrible reason to send down Berrios. If they were that concerned they could just send someone else down.
  5. Odor's throw.
  6. NTM that Berrios is a significantly better prospect then either of those guys and has a much better track record (minors)
  7. Hence why I said something.
  8. Gardy was basically Leo at the end of the film, he more or less was sacrificed while TR could stay afloat. It's kind of beautiful in a way.
  9. One could make a comparison to "rearranging the chairs on the titanic" but I think that is an extremely gross and upsetting comparison for the Titanic. The Titanic had 2,200 passengers on board when she sank, however 705 people survived which works it way out to a .320 "win percentage" so to speak. The Twins would KILL for a .320 win percentage currently. You heard it here first folks, the 2016 Twins are a bigger disaster than the titanic.
  10. Nah, the odds really are minuscule. For one, Sanders really has nothing to gain by doing it, he wouldn't win and wouldn't come close. More importantly: You need an absolute minimum spend of 1-2 billion to fund a presidential campaign. Sanders certainly doesn't have that money in the bank, and it takes a lot of $27 donations from his supporters to get up to 2 billion. Most importantly: I believe it's already too late to get Bernie on the ballot as an independent in a significant amount of states anyways.
  11. He is tearing up AAA, I believe he could learn pitch recognition in the majors. I get your point though. In reality, like nearly everyone said, Buxton should have started the season in AAA, now because of terrible planning (was there ever a plan to begin with?) we have wasted 40 some odd games that he could have used to develop.
  12. Berrios was also striking out a lot of "major league hitters" so clearly he was doing at least a little something right....
  13. Yeah, when any of the high upside prospects are called up at this point, the Twins really need to goto them and basically say this: "we are going to give you a minimum of 30 days in the majors this stint, so don't press, you have plenty of games and chances to earn your way onto this roster permanently" Instead we call up guys and basically force them to play brilliantly out of the gate, any struggles and it's back to AAA for a good long time (seriously why on earth is Buxton not back on this big league club?)
  14. Berrios wasn't awful the two starts preceding this one. Moving Hughes to the bullpen makes 1,000x more sense than demoting Berrios after a bad inning.
  15. I'm still waiting 4 pages later for the question: "If the Twins are really trying to win now, why is Phil Hughes still in the rotation?"
  16. Good post Seth, I don't agree with keeping Hughes in the rotation however. The simple truth is that even if Hughes gets back to his career norms somehow, he still isn't tradeable in 2016. The current GM has been making a ton of seemingly random and questionable moves, none of which seem to be working. However there is one move that Ryan can make that will help the future. And that move is resigning/retiring.
  17. Trump telling Bernie to run independent is absolutely hilarious.
  18. I knew who he was, I goto a lot of Mariners games and follow that club and org pretty closely. Letting him go for nothing was a stupid move and remains a stupid and pointless move.
  19. Berrios was brought up April 27th, since April 27th Phil Hughes has had 3 starts. Here is his line: 11IP 19H 15 ER That is a 12.27 ERA, and hitters have had a 1.180 OPS against him, basically everybody who has played against Hughes since Berrios was called up have been hitting like Barry Bonds. So yes, like I said, Berrios certainly was performing better than Hughes was.
  20. There honestly isn't a real good argument to be made in keeping Molitor around. In addition to this team being terrible, they make a ton of mistakes that frankly shouldn't be made, also his in game strategy of refusing to PH for Suzuki, bunting non stop, defaulting to the mediorce veterans and leaving in Nolasco/Hughes too long leave a lot to be desired frankly. So yes, Molitor should be fired, along with the entire front office. In any other organization in ALL of sports this would have already happened by now.
  21. Prior to last nights start, Berrios certainly was pitching better than Hughes.
  22. If he really wanted to try to save everyone elses job, he could fall on his sword at anytime. Of course that hasn't happened, not even close.
  23. Once again, if winning games (even in this futile season) was his goal, then why on earth is Phil Hughes still in this rotation?
  24. I see a lot of people with the stance that you need to play to "win" in the MLB and need to have said players that help you win. If that is the case, and if that is the strategy the Twins are using, then why is Phil Hughes still in the rotation?
  25. He hasn't done or said anything this season to suggest otherwise. Maybe he does "give a damn" but is just a terrible GM who has had the game pass him by. But if that is the case if he did actually care, I would think he would do the honorable thing and step down (again). Basically, if Terry Ryan actually wants to see the Twins compete for a world series he should step down, even if his heart is still in it (which I question)
