  1. The only thing I don't understand in blow outs like this, is why not let Correia there until his arm falls off. It's his mess after all. Now on top of the blow out, there is no bullpen for tomorrow (well, half of a bullpen).
  2. How much did we have to pay? NOw seriously, kudos to Seth Stohs, who saw this one coming.
  3. Oh! Please. What is more important? Play to more games in a season where the team is going nowhere, and is only a showcase for rookies and trade candidates, or taking care of your twin premature daughters? The answer is obvious.
  4. I think this throwing of innuendo without having any evidence of anything is pretty low, and is not worth of this site. I despise the cheaters, but if we are going to start making suggestion of any guy that have a power streak, because he knows somebody, well, we end up accusing everybody. It is not the right thing to do.
  5. During the broadcast, TK suggested strongly that changes were coming. Then he kind of backtracked, saying that it was his opinion, and so on.
  6. Thanks for the report. I have a question. What is the opinion with Aderlin Mejia?. I don't see him in any prospect lists, but I see he is a SS and since he joined the Miracle several months ago, he keeps hitting above .300, and providing a lot of offense. I am just looking at numbers, and I know they don't tell the whole story, but he looks good to me.
  7. If I am not wrong, Hernandez and De Vries are also in the disabled list
  8. Great article. Thanks. It shows that there is a lot more in the development of these players than what the score boxes of the last 10 games show. Sometimes we look at the numbers of the last games and ask why this guy or that guy doesn't get promoted? And this article shows that there are a lot more things that they want to achieve with this players, things that are not necessarily reflected in the numbers, at least in the short term.
  9. With the need for middle infielders, especially shortsotp. for sure. How is his defense?
  10. I hope before deciding who gets fired there is a good discussion about what has to change Firing for firing, that doesn't change anything. The area that seems to need more change is the philosophy of pitching. I know they are bringing more strike-out pitchers through the minors, but is Anderson the right guy to coach those pitchers? I doubt. And there is the problem with Gardy. Would he accept staying with a different pitching coach than Anderson? Looking from the outside... it doesn't look like. Maybe insde things are different.
  11. No, I will never cheer for them to lose. 1) The reason I am fan of a sports team is because I want them to win games. I will never be happy with my team losing, especially if they are losing playing bad baseball. 2) As good and important draft picks are they are just that, draft peaks. There is no guarantee that in the 3-5 years that the kid has to go through the farm system, he doesn't get injured, or simply, doesn't pan out. If there is one thing I don't like of the draft system, it is that somehow it rewards organizations for losing, without any punishment.
  12. Why on earth Gardy always find a way to make a decision to lose against the Yankees? An army of lefties coming, he has Duensing warmed up, and he goes with Burton that is struggling, because he is the "designated" eight inning guy.
  13. I shared with you being a fan of both baseball and soccer. One thing both share is incredible fan loyalty. In soccer is more intense because most soccer leagues have relegation. That is, if your team finish last, next year it plays in a lower division, and a team of the lower division goes up. Which is an unbearable tragedy for the fans of the team that goes down. You see grown men literally crying and weeping in the stands. But they stay loyal, waiting patiently for the team to go up again. And the traditions, and the coach is responsible for all the evil in the world, and so on.
  14. Willingham knee is acting up again. If he can't play and goes to the DL, then it would make sense to call Hicks up, and have a more balanced roster.
  15. One thing that is very rarely said is that even the most extreme strike-out pitcher gets most of it outs by other means than strike outs. A high strike out pitcher gets 9, 10 at the most K/9, and a non-strike out pitcher gets about 4-5 K/9. If we count 27 outs, it means that the strike-ot pitchers still has to get 18 outs by other means, while the low strike out pitcher has to get 22-23 outs by other means, not that great of a difference. I take it like a strike out pitcher has the ability to fool hitters more, hence, as Brock says, has the ability to induce weaker contact when the contact happens.
  16. First, don't count the chickens before they hatch. Let's see how Gibson does in the first 3 starts. Hopefully he will do well, but he wouldn't be the first one to struggle with the transition. In the meantime, they can hold Pelfrey back between disable list, rehab assignments, and so on, and by then we are at the deadline, and the situation resolves itself.
  17. Thanks
  18. Anybody knows what happened to Darnell? I can see in gameday that he was lifted in the third after 2 walks in a row with 2 outs, but at that point the game was only 0-1.
  19. I don't know about that, but if he is on third, I'll send him home every time. Tag that guy, catcher...
  20. Another possibility is that when Plouffe is back, Pressley or Burton (I hope not both) go on the DL with whatever injuries they have.
  21. Congratulations! But not only for the 1,000,000 but for the reason behind it. If you want to know anything about any Twin or twin prospect, no matter where he plays, this is the site. Also, each of you bring something different and complementary to each other. Different opinions, different angles, different info. I cannot help but highlight 2 aspects that I always follow (by no means this is putting down the rest of the site, but these are my favorites): Minor league reports, and Parker Hageman articles
  22. Assuming Plouffe comes back healthy, what about him as a trading chip? A cost controlled, 20 home runs a year 3rd baseman. Having Romero (and Sano right behind him) opens this possibility, I think.
  23. Thank you for this very informative list. One thing I noticed is that you didn't include Delbinson Romero. I know he probable is not a top prospect, but I thought that he could make the top 52, considering that there are not many above them for the position (there is a huge 20-year old coming underneath him, but you don't need me to tell you that).
  24. One of the things that Tom Kelly was saying while he was in the booth last week, was that Parmelee was having trouble catching up to fastballs. That is kind of a red flag, isn't it? I mean, young hitters can learn with time to lay off nasty braking balls, but if your bat is too slow to catch up to fastballs... Maybe somebody that knows more baseball than me can correct me here.
  25. The thing is how long it takes to make a decision on them. They have already play during much of two seasons.
