    You could add half a run to Lynn's ERA and he would still have the best one on the team... but his FIP was high last year so lets not bother... come on guys.

    Every single player on an expiring contract should be saying these things. Simple negotiating tactic.

    Man imagine putting up a 1.99 ERA in your rookie season (Busenitz) and not being favored to make the team out of spring training. And then imagine posting a 4.50 ERA across 21 starts in the AL in your rookie season (Mejia) and not being considered a lock for the rotation next year. This game is too hard man.

    I'm skeptical that bullpen cars would even be noticeably faster than the reliever just jogging in. Twins solved this years ago in the metrodome by having the bullpens FRONT AND CENTER BABY.

    Not franchise related but the Miracle on Ice in my opinion essentially counts as a great Minnesota sports moment.

    Yes IF Santana has another career year AND Berrios improves AND Mejia improves markedly AND Gibson's last two months were for real AND a young arm does emerge AND there are no injuries whatsoever THEN yes you could get away without adding an impact starter. That doesn't mean you should!

    Oh okay... and what happens to the DH? Are we really ready to start baseballs holy war? Would prefer 8 4-team divisions, aka NFC North (MIN, MIL, CHI, DET).

    What does the bullpen look like next year? You've got Hildy, Busenitz, probably Duffey and Rogers. I know most are in favor of bringing Pressly back. FA guys like Gee and Belisle have been very good to us. You think about bringing them back right? But then you are already at 7! Do you really want to roll with the same bullpen? If you sign a FA who is the odd man out there? And thats counting on nothing from Moya/Curtiss/Reed (or May / ORourke ...) and you've likely got to stash Hughes in there as well.

    Just glancing at wikipedia it looks like 1B are hardly ever taken in the Rule 5 draft. Only 2 in ten years or so? Both eventually returned/traded.

    Beyond Granite where is the depth? LaMonte Wade only just made it to AA. We are one injury away from having very thin outfield depth, unless we are counting Garver now?

    Gibson and Mejia should not be mentioned in the same context. Remember that Mejia is a rookie and a was legit prospect, not another retread. He's doing well and lumping him with Gibson for 'inconsistency' is absurd.
