The next (hopefully post-rain) home stand starts May 13th against the Red Sox. That would be the earliest I'd see a move being made that involves messing with the 40-man.
My guess as to what will happen (not to be confused with what I might want) is that first will come the Pelfrey-Deduno swap. After that, the shopping of Correia. Meyer will take that spot, which puts this in late June at the earliest. That would be my guess. I would not feel bad to be proved wrong.
The obvious question here: if Drew is that good, how come the Tigers, who are clearly in "win now mode," have not signed him? It's not like they have a high first round pick, and are willing to open up the bank.
It's been raining pretty steadily here since last night. And there are thunderstorms forecast for tonight and tomorrow, or I suppose they may have tried to play Monday. Btw, the lineup was posted before the cancellation, and Plouffe was in it as normal.
Probably because he's not with the team any more, and people are looking at the actual available options? There is a fairly lengthy thread in the 'more baseball' area about Solarte.
Gibson certainly seems to be sliding into the ace slot; Price last time and now Verlander. It will be good to see how he responds after a tough outing in Tampa.
Five minutes after Nunez is pronounced healthy, he'll be called up. I'd expect Florimon to be optioned at that time. Arcia is starting rehab games today, but it wouldn't be a huge surprise if he spends a few more weeks in Rochester working on timing after that. Willingham hasn't swung a bat and I'd guess he's a late May return at the earliest. Guerrier is probably the next up after Nunez; whether he takes Tonkin's or Burton's spot is still up for grabs.
They do; since 2011 I think. There are also brand new metal detectors at the gates, so be ready for that. http://minnesota.twins.mlb.com/min/ballpark/information/index.jsp?content=tech
