  1. You don't think there's anyone affiliated with the Dodger organization (or any of the other franchises, or indeed any large organization) that has not committed harassment? Or is it okay because it's not been made public, yet?
  2. What would the weeds do if people didn't wander off into them every so often? They might up and die.
  3. Kepler’s stats look pretty comparable to Justin Morneau at the same age. I wouldn’t give up on him yet.
  4. The odds are pretty good that watching any sporting event you will see people who have done just that. Only you won’t know who. Maybe a player, maybe a staff member, maybe an official. Just because they’re invisible for the moment doesn’t mean they’re not there. Sucks, doesn’t it?
  5. Am finding Jean Claude van Johnson on Prime pretty entertaining.
  6. Cameron’s. They use cellulose based pods instead on plastic. And are local. https://www.cameronscoffee.com/filtered-single-serve
  7. One of my great heroes in Science is the physicist Richard Feynman. He had some major faults, too. I try not to emulate those. https://galileospendulum.org/2014/07/13/the-problem-of-richard-feynman/ And the science fiction giant and polymath Issac Asimov... https://io9.gizmodo.com/dont-look-away-fighting-sexual-harassment-in-the-scifi-1785704207 And through a well-known organization devoted to skeptics: http://www.slate.com/articles/double_x/doublex/2012/10/sexism_in_the_skeptic_community_i_spoke_out_then_came_the_rape_threats.html Point being, the problem is everywhere. Admire the accomplishments, learn not to repeat the really terrible behavior. And challenge that behavior when you see it in yourself or those around you. I fight this battle and you do too. Ultimately, maybe the problem is belief itself. Doubt and question more. You may not like what you find, but that’s just too bad.
  8. News media literacy. https://arstechnica.com/science/2017/12/knowing-how-the-news-media-works-protects-people-from-conspiracy-theories/
  9. A quick remark on the Social Media thing; posting on a site like this one is engaging in Social Media, or what did you think it was? Also, as with most things, one gets out of it what one puts into it. If you wish to improve it, improve.
  10. The Republican majority in Congress. Scientific illiteracy. All other forms of illiteracy. Faux news.
  11. We will sell no wine before its time.
  12. Indeed, one might call that a sign of maturity.
  13. Let due process do it's thing; if the charge(s) are found to be valid, this sounds like a matter for the criminal justice system. I find it hard to imagine that the woman victim is making any of this up, but will still hold to the presumption of innocence in the meantime.
  14. But what if it's a room full of poison gas?
  15. Missed this in the theatre; so waiting for the digital release in a couple of weeks.
  16. The obvious motivation for vetting it here.
  17. https://www.twinkietown.com/2017/12/27/16820990/miguel-sano-might-be-trade-bait-chris-archer-2018-minnesota-twins-third-base-hot-stove
  18. Sounds like things may be warming up on a Sano-Archer deal. Any reality here?

  20. I’m kinda old school.
  21. For an extremely politically non-correct version, look up the Chad Mitchell Trio rendition from 1963. Will not post it here.
  22. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=ADtLy7M7BeM
  23. You need some freshly squeezed green milk. That solves everything.
  24. Clearly you missed the Yu Darvish in a Twins uniform cameo.
  25. I'm happily supporting the next generation (actually maybe two removed) to get to Mars, the outer moons, and study the origins of the Cosmos. One can do better things with one's time and money.
