  1. Deserves a reply but I really don't wanna have to ban myself from TD.
  2. Youngbloods, for me. Only thing I remember from it was being bored. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=OCiLxRCBf40
  3. Luckily we haven't run into each other.
  4. He simply forgot to include the phrase "of my subjective opinions" before the comma.
  5. I'm having an affair with my first wife.
  6. I see the stats. But Boshers had the misfortune (or maybe I did, as a spectator) of blowing the save in Pawtucket, the one time I ever saw him pitch. So if he does get called up, I'm going to be holding my breath each and every time he gets called in, anticipating bad results.
  7. The cynic in me says that he does this on purpose so that he won't be banished to the bullpen.
  8. The interesting question for me is why Hughes comes out so flat to start the game. Before today's game his season ERA was 5.70, but in 8 first-inning tries the ERA was 10.12. Obviously after today's outing the differential is even more pronounced. Isn't there something more he can do in preparation to come out there ready to fire?
  9. Finally caught up on the thread, in time for the bottom of the 9th. To read the posts up to here, you'd think we were losing 21-0.
  10. I thought about going ahead and fixing it the right way anyway, and letting you take the blame.
  11. I gave up on the forums as anything other than a generic "old man yells at cloud" sports site a long time ago.
  12. Better than Nurse Ratched.
  13. You're describing the difference in what is said privately versus what is said publicly. Other employees read the papers too.
  14. Does the phrase "twisting in the wind" mean anything to you? I don't think that's how a smart organization (baseball or just a normal business) would do things. The guy in charge is the guy in charge, up until the morning he no longer is. Telling the world that the guy at the top is being evaluated, just like everyone else, invites chaos/paralysis through indecision and unintentional insubordination at each level below.
  15. The .256 BA in Columbus was meh; likewise the counting stats of R and RBI. But opposing pitchers were walking him at a fierce clip and he was hitting enough doubles and homers to make up for the paucity of singles. IMO it makes him worth a try, if you're somehow in the market for a fourth outfielder. That's the painful part, we were even looking for someone like that.
  16. After a few more teams have seen him (and vice versa) for a second time?
  17. Cool down. Have to wait a few days to see if she passes through waivers; maybe another daycare will snap her up.
  18. His defense is below par, so unless he's ready to absolutely rake at the MLB level it may be that he gives up as many runs with his glove as he earns with his bat.
  19. That's why it would be a favour.
  20. "...I'd live in Hell and rent out Texas."
  21. I had to step away from the game, and when I came back the unexpected had happened. Amusing to read the rest of this thread with the knowledge of what was about to unfold.
  22. "Sir, I need to ask you to step aside. Five strikeouts in only 6 innings? Who are you, and what have you done with Pat Dean?"
