  1. True, he's hitting .500. But it's an empty .500.
  2. I'm unconvinced. It's said that x-rays of Berra's head revealed nothing.
  3. Which wouldn't meet mlb standards.
  4. Keep 'em in their eggshells, and by all means, do not count them.
  5. Tyler Blinn Duffey? / That's his full name, for reals! // No I don't think he's the mystery guest. /// And by now, I find there won't be one.
  6. So Mister X is in town, presumably flown in last night, but no one has caught wind of anything? No one in Rochester says out loud, say, where's Mejia* anyway? Ditto Ft Myers and Hughes. Any other out of town candidates? Personally I could see it as just a bullpen game. * Was gonna add Duffey but he pitched last night.
  7. Buy low, sell high. Warren Buffett himself couldn't have done better.
  8. If it became a permanent difference between the majors and minors, it could harm the perception by local fans that the games are being played competitively. That's already a problem IMO, with obvious strategic moves (lefty-vs-righty pinch hitters for example) not being employed in critical situations, and pitching moves or non-moves made with apparent orders from higher up to allow a certain number of pitches to a starter no matter what. Gimmicky extra-innings rules won't by themselves cause fans to tune out and not show up at the ball park, unless they happened to be the tipping point on top of everything else.
  9. There is an Adopt-A-Prospect page on Ben maintained by yours truly. You're hardly alone in having high hopes for the young fellow.
  10. Fellow TDer jzenk42 wrote up a nice blog entry about my guy Ben: http://twinsdaily.com/blog/946/entry-10993-ben-rortvedt-the-catcher-of-the-future/ No surprise, he is very high on this prospect's prospects. Maybe he shoulda drafted Ben in the Adopt-A-Prospect project when he had the chance last month. (A deal could probably still be worked out.)
  11. Indeed. Here's why: For purposes of calculating earned runs under Rule 9.16, the runner who begins an inning on second base pursuant to this rule shall be deemed to be a runner who has reached second base because of a fielding error, but no error shall be charged to the opposing team or to any player. https://www.milb.com/drillers/news/minor-league-baseball-announces-pace-of-play-regulations-for-2018/c-268703358
  12. Some states seem to think that "suspicion of attempted armed robbery" is a capital crime.
  13. Let me introduce you to TD's friendly moderation team. / Seriously, that one's just ... no.
  14. Azimuth? Arc? http://www.reactiongifs.com/wp-content/uploads/2013/11/la-dee-da.gif
  15. In honor of Chief's dizzying intellect, I offer this for dinner: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=fnj2ClF5C_s
  16. C'mon, Moya-zie, show us why you have a major league roster spot.
  17. I think that punchline in that format likely would have gotten me banned.
  18. "A one-hopper into the shift." "What is, things I'm tired of hearing when Logan Morrison is up, Alex?"
  19. I am disappointed at having not noticed any reaction from you regarding my recent change in signature line. Think Seinfeld might pay me some royalties to use it in his standup act?
  20. I was over at White Sox Daily mingling with the denizens there, instead of posting here, thus raising the average IQ for a time at both sites.
