    I am absolutely a defensive metrics guy but dont know how to precisely rate a C. Its awkwardly funny to watch a game & hear an announcer talk about how good a defensive player is but ALL the metrics show otherwise....or vice versa. These are new stats & this early into them....either you believe them or you dont. Many that dont believe fail to understand that defense waivers from a player year to year just like a hitters numbers for many variables. I believe there is something to this, but not 100% sure of how to decifer the numbers myself.

    several, including myself, have trumpeted Chavez as a great guy to chase. Problem is that several contending type teams will also chase him...NYY, Philly, etc Think they will go the Hannahan route also.....ONLY due to his ties here.

    From the chart.....Drew Butera was also a -8.6 for 10/11. Why is it that he is considered a good defensive catcher again???? His pass balls are high, his throwing is just league average.......why??? Tampa believes in a defensive backup C & is one of baseballs elite teams/best pitching staffs Minnesota believes in an offensive backup & is one of baseballs worse teams/worse pitching staffs Hmmmmmm

    Alexi can be successful on a team that only wants him to play great defense and provide some steals on a rather slow team. There is enough power on the team to get by. Whether he will is another story

    See you in August then there is some seriousness to this. Although it could be the next week, Morneau is not gonna be extended so most serious Twins fans will just wait for his July trade as it will bring the debuts of either/both of Hicks/Arcia. The next few days, will TRyan sign legit FA pitchers to anything more than a 1yr deal or will he buy low & just look to trade those 1yr deals in August to get to the real pitching prospect of Meyer/Gibson. Goin into the season with , what is today, the worst middle infileld in the majors--but not thinking anything is wrong with it is just another depressing thing. Its just frustrating that after becoming the worst team in AL/2nd worst in majors over the past 2 yrs......there doesnt seem to be any urgency

    Butera wont be sent to AAA as they are already full on their AAA roster Arbitration is a tricky thing MN will have nothing to do with the decision. They are forced to pay 800K to a player who wont play but make Gardy feel more secure.

    Lannan seems like a perfect Twins fit.....soft throwing control-like pitcher who doesnt strike out guys but walks too many!!!

    Twins absolutey need to address a hard throwing righthanded setup man to help Jaret Burton (who may be a 1yr wonder)......they have already shown they dont think much of TJ recovery guys by underpaying Scot Baker (who left) & saying they will baby Kyle Gibson all year. Think they is no shot but I would explore it.....Wilson will only consider a winner IMO

    Hermann, Gibson, Meyer will all be in AAA till the July 31st deadline.....meaning that the only time to pay attention to the Twins is after they call up their legit players.

    Butera bein tendered means that if he doesnt agree to an agreement.....he'll get 800/900K in arbitration meaning he has a 25 man roster spot secured. An absolute waste of 300/400K This kind of decision is why MN is guarranteed another 90 loss season.....no question. 12 of 13 everyday players are secured....why even have a spring training

    The last time we had three highly stated ST competitions, the guy who did better in ST ended up losing. Span vs Gomez for CF (Gomez won), Harris versus Punto for 3B (Punto won), Slowey versus the 5 starters who made the rotation. (Slowey got sent to the bullpen). Yeah, remember that last one, where they said we have a surplus of quality starting pitching so we'll have a battle to see who the top 5 are...a surplus of pitching...yeah right Dont believe Gardy ever lets players win a job in spring training.....tho they can lose it. Ive always thought Gardy knows his 25 guys coming into camp......believe Hendiks has the 5th spot and its his to lose, again if he's not dealt

    All reports have Diamond as the only starter but I believe Liam has a slot to lose if he's not dealt in a package. Reasoning includes the AAA pitchers as of now: Deduno, Walters, Blackburn, DeVries & Pedro Hernandez. The list also counts Kyle Gibson, who'll start in bullpen, Shairon Martis & BJ Hermsen, who'll both start in AA. Thats 8 guys. Mn wont send Hendriks back to a level he dominated. I also think if they keep Liam, he will take the big Scot Diamond type jump. Agree or not?

    Rather spend $6m on Scot Feldman or Scot Baker for 1yr than get Sam Deduno or PJ Walters for 500K or Jason Marquis for $3m. Not gonna get any value goin dumpster diving

    This pretty much showd ya what Roc's everyday players are. C:Hermann/Fryer w/Pinto/Lehman in AA 1B: Collabello/Clement MI: Dozier or Escobar w/Field/Betesford....Santana in AA 3B:Romero OF: Dinkelman/Ramirez/Bigley w/either Benson/Hicks...other & Arcia in AA
