    Gardy is hinting strongly that he'd like both Meyer & Tonkin on the staff but wont due to Terry Ryan. Would be interesting to hear what Gardy would like his staff to be vs. what it'll end up looking like.

    May, Meyer & Hermsen are all headed to New Brit as Twins will once again use AAA for the retreads like Sam Deduno & PJ Walters. The Red Wings 'ace' will be either Kyle Gibson or Liam Hendriks...whomever doesnt make the rotation (unless both due to Diamonds elbow). Joining them in the rotation in ROC will be Pedro Hernandez & Cole DeVries. Nick Blackburn woulda been there but is out for a month or 2 (thankfully). Shairon Martis & Esmeril Vazquez will also compete for a spot. No spots for true prospects. Looks like Oswaldo Arcia is now guarranteed to start in AA also, due to his injury.

    Tom Kelly recently gave an interview & said he was one of the few in the organization who was still high on Hendriks. That statement doesnt bode well. My prediction (if Diamond is ready for opening day) is they will send Hendriks to BOS for the rights to Ryan Pressley, so the Rule V pitcher isnt lost back to Sox. Team just doesnt value Liam & he will succeed somewhere.

    Personally wont spend any $$ to the Twins for tickets (have to on concessions) as i will buy tix off the streets(as will many) so they wont make additional income off of that This thought will cost Twins hundreds of thousands in tix sales from disgruntled fans who want to see a better attempt from mgt

    Sorrento was a very solid pro for a decade. Knoblauch should be in the Twins HOF if not for politics Becker has a couple solid years (pre sabermetrics) before being a Twins laughingstock punching bag (which I dont agree with) Pitchers show had horrible Tom Kelly/Dick Such were at developing pitchers. Everyone comes to TKs defense that he had nobody to work with, but this shows that the scouts thought they did & they screwed everyone but Tapani up....(maybe Ritchie in Pitt succedded).

    saying RD is the worst is like saying Michael Cuddyer was the worst defensive 2B. He was put in a spot that he couldnt handle, but wasnt replaced or put in a spot that he could've handled better....shown by his success in NY due to how bad the Twins were. Now, player who caused the most heartaches.........oh yeah!!!! Any list without Drew Butera isnt a list....sorry!!!

    21 posts on this thread vs 12 (tho you can only see one!!!) on the main page (which I didnt initially see either).....you guys are gonna get someone mad!!!! 148Ks in 137IP 108h 38bb 1.06whip in 07/08 but only 105k in 179.2IP 202H 73bb 1.53whip since......what happenned?? Obviously the past 4 yrs caught the Twins/Rick Andersons attention!!

    Carlos Gomez ....meh??? 19HR 37SB .463SLgg .768OPS, pretty solid yr but Twins fans fail to acknowledge it....hes a solid major leaguer. Todd Walker....meh??? .289/.348/.435 career in 4554 ABs.....very solid career, just not All Star level, again Twins fans never acknowledge him

    pretty much agree but no doubt Butera beats out Hermann but also think that Tyler Robertson will make the pen as Gardy needs a 3rd lefty as well as a 3rd C

    Terry Ryan is so old school & in over his head with the new wave of baseball/baseball execs His expertise in scouting/minor league player evaluation would be put to better use as an assistant GM type of role

    MN is a 95 loss team but am not a huge Swisher fan...despite me bein a sbermetric guy. Think Nick benefited from bein in a great lineup with huge protection & not having star expectations. His 21-130 playoff BAve (.161/.263/.307 in 36 Yankee playoff gms----16-106 for .151/.262/.231/ not including MNs 6 gms!) shows how he will melt under the pressure he'll get in Clev if they ever get good.

    Joe Benson will be a solid 4th Of or starting cf for 2 months till Hicks is ready & Joe slide to a RF platoon with Arcia after Justin trade

    Vargas would be a solid acquisition for Morneau, but if they want to keep a spot open for Hendriks/Gibson, etc this year for 5th spot....no spot for him with Corriea. Woulda been very happy with him. Dont think they can do better & problem is IF Justin has a bad first 4 months....we hear there is no trade market for him & if he goes back to his previous production...Ryan wont want to trade him but sign him to an extension.
