    I dont think they got rid of Garcia because they were worried about his effectiveness. That's hindsight and not the point. Got Colon..... lol, good one.

    The kind of amusing part of this to me is that Falvey was pretty much feeding Molitor to the wolves when they got rid of Kinzler and Garcia and did nothing to bolster the team, in essence waving the white flag on the season. But despite making his job even more difficult, the team rallies and sits on the cusp of a playoff spot. That wasn't supposed to happen and puts them between a bit of a rock and a hard place. I don't love his decision making a lot of the time and I don't think he's the manager to take this team to the next level, but firing him after what the team has managed to accomplish, with the deck being stacked against them, would seem pretty asinine.

    It's a ridiculous tradition that needs to end, I personally can't stand it. My favourite hockey games to attend are between two Canadian teams, because I only have to endure one song. When an American team is visiting, I have to go to the bathroom by the the time all the pomp and circumstance is over. Also, hat head is embarrassing, especially when you have to remove your touque. That does a number on your hair.

    Yeah, because Allen was blessed with such obvious talent. Regardless, are you suggesting Molly would fall on his sword if they let Allen go? That makes little sense considering he really wasn't his guy, I recall Molitor wanting Chris Bosio.

    Under the qualification rules, as of today they are a playoff team. Can they beat the Yankees in a one game play in? Of course, it's the ultimate SSS, crap shoot. Beyond that, no way they have the pitching to go any further. I'm ok with that considering what my expectations were going into the season. I expect more for next year though, provided they make some moves.
