  1. Even though PIT says no, but I've heard that Reynolds will be traded sooner rather than later if the right deal comes along. Most likely it'll come after Nimmo signs. Most likely MN won't be involved unless there is a 3 way trade.
  2. I don't see BOS renegociating with Bogaert helps us with Correa. I see it as hurting us because that brings Cubs into the Correa competition
  3. Back in Neshek day, it was common for the Twins rotation to go 7 innings and wasn't uncommon for them to complete the game. Neshek was the middle RP who pitched 1-2 innings to fill that gap between SP & closer. Now days our rotation is very different & philosophy has changed for SPs to pitch around 5 innings. To compensate so should our philosophy on middle RPs should change to pitch around 3 innings instead of having around 4 short RPs pitching almost every game. This overstretches short relief which to compensate the rotation is overstretched.
  4. Watching Bradfield steal home w/o the pitcher making a play, got me pumped. This is something that can really rally a team. Love his speed! I'm looking forward to your reviews Jeremy. I'm also hoping to nab a LH or switch hitting/ defensive catcher or a front-line SP in there.
  5. The problem with Murphy is he's expensive & demands prospects. And the problem with all those listed (and I'll throw in Valdez) are they all bat RH. Which doesn't solve the problem of Jeffer's problem against RHPs. Narvaez bats LH. he solves this problem. He is our man, unless someone can come up with someone better that bats LH or switch, that's available. This is only a band-aid,, we need a long term solution.

    BTV

I noticed Arraez BTV value has gone up from 19.7 to 26.6. You also have seen Arraez name come up more often on the trade board by other teams fans. I imagine that there is a correlatation between the bigger demand of Arraez & his trade value on BTV. I also think that Arraez's name was leaked to the press to drum up interest in Arraez, raise demand & increase trade value. IMO if FO finds an offer they like, Arraez might be gone. My guess it could be Boras's idea (IDT that this FO has that economic sense) to incentivate Correa to return to MN. If the Correa deal doesn't goes thu neither will the secondary.
  7. What it looks like is CC to SF & Bogaert to the Cubs now.
  8. It seems like team problem, so all the coaching staff has to do is not to change what they do against lefties but definitely change their evaluations of how to pitch righties. Under these premises we don't need to look for a LHP.
  9. God be praised! I'll be very interested in watching the college talent, especially catching. I got some in mind already. Kyle Teel comes to mind but there are others, like Brady Neal as a sleeper.
  10. It's comforting at least to know that MN has the last say.
  11. It'll be hard to trade any of these especially if Correa doesn't sign. No matter what we need SWR and he's far too underrated to trade.
  12. IMO Boras is having MN set the floor, then he'll go & touch base with the other big competitive teams, Asking them can you beat this offer? if they can give a signicant amount more then they'll take the highest offer if not they'll circle back to the Twins. I don't believe LAD is not in the running because many fans hate him & the don't want to give him the years. Do you think that Turner has set the bar for SS?
  13. Can anybody tell me the draft lottery turned out last night?

    BTV

It's like trading on the stock market. it's normally volitile. You have to sell high & buy low, if you hold on to some stocks too long, you miss out some very good returns
  15. Kepler's trade value is low, so to trade him just to trade him doesn't make sense. He plays RF but he profiles better in LF, Although he's an excellent corner OF, CF is unnatural for him & he doesn't command the position. Although being a premiere RFer is a great selling point, it's also a position where many hide their less adept fielders. So this shouldn't be the reason to keep him. I'm fed up with Kepler's batting but being pratical, I'd give him another chance to see how he performs with the shift ban. Only way I'd be open to trade Kepler is trading for someone like Marquez (CO) who like Kepler could prosper better under a change of scenery.
  16. Some people look at only stats and awards. When you look at stats and awards & Arraez you go WOW, His BA, OBP, OPS, his defensive stats (tho deceiving). Then you look at his awards - All-Star, batting title, Silver Slugger, GG nomination, Luiz Aparicio award etc. Many may look at him as defensively flexible. Many who aren't close to him don't see the warts. Even Twins fans refuse to see the warts & like to look at him thru the specific stats lens. I enjoy Arraez's ABs and wouldn't trade him for just anyone, But if an owner is enamored with him & would like to include him in a trade for a front-line SP or an upgrade at catcher. I'd jump on it right now
  17. Thanks chpettit, I'm sorry I misconstrued Nesek's gap filling middle relief as long relief. But I don't want to negate our need of long relief to fill our gap between SP to closer.
  18. Castro was a great asset to the Twins in his time here. He even contributed a lot being in platoon with Garver. Would love another catcher like Castro to compliment what we have. Castro will be a great catching coach, not only the analytical part but also the other practical aspects. God bless you Jason! Hope to see you again in a Twins uniform.

    BTV

I was going through my BTV trading history and I came up these past values. '21/'22 Off-season principle trading targets (some) Lopez (MIA) 53.8 Montas (OAK) 38.8 Gallen (AR) 44.2 Twins main offerings (some) Arraez 34.1 Balazovik 14.5 Jeffers 27.9 '20/'21 Off-season trading targets (some) Castillo (CIN) 110.8 Musgrove (PIT) 36.4 Reynolds (PIT) 31.1 Clase' (CLE) 1.7 Alacantra (MIA) 27.4 E Hernandez (MIA) 8 Twins main offerings Maeda (55.3) Kiriloff (51.2) Arraez (44.8) Larnach (35.9) Balazovik (17.1) Personal NOTES: Castillo trade could have been made if Kiriloff was included- Musgrove was offered to us for Larnach, there was no counter offer so we lost out- I had put Gordon in many of my trades because he had no value at SS. My assumption as right but he proved valuable in the OF. Todays BTV values Arraez (19.7) Balazovik (2.8) Jeffers (13) Kiriloff (11.9) Larnack (14.6) Maeda (-5.2)
  20. Rumour is the Queens proper English, like honour, savour, colour etc.
  21. I've advocated a Kepler/ Marquez trade before the off season got started. I'd like if Levine earned his money & call his buddies in CO and sell this trade. I'd rather not use Arraez for front-line pitching right now. IMO pitching isn't close to be our greatest need.
  22. I'm just brainstorming, normally when people look at a contract they look at the top end of 8yrs./ $360MM. He'll only get 8/ 160 if he gets in a serious accident tomorrow & never plays a single game again in the MLB. In which he comes out ahead.
  23. If most of our FA $ is tied up in Correa then I say we need to set a deadline. If not then we need to also seriouly go after FA Contreras but I don't hear any talk there. Most odds out there have us very low in signing Correa. I don't think it's out of the question to offer Correa a very reasonable contract and give him reasonable time to think it over. A contract I have in mind is a 8yrs./ $320MM. That's a lot right? It's high because it's full of incentives. Like winning a WS, league championship, post season games, division championship, # of games at SS, # of games played and winning a GG. If he accomplish all this then he has earned his money. If he wants a 2 yr. opt out, fine, maybe have last year buyout. All this with a $20MM base AAV. The 8yr/ $320MM should satisfy Correa & Boras egos and with the incentives helps to safe guard the team. If they refuse then walk away pursue our secondary options.
