  1. The Twins need to make this happen... Then I can stop checking in every five minutes!
  2. I'd be leary about giving up Larnach. I have a feeling he's going to be a very good hitter. You have to give up talent to get it. if Celestino develops, he'll need an outfield home too. That could soften the blow of losing Larnach.
  3. There is no way we get anywhere close to 1400 innings from this group. We are going to need 10 to 12 "starters" to get there. There are no work horses in this group because of age (young and old) or injury.
  4. If Kirilloff and Larnach are hitting good, it would be a mistake to bat any of the above mentioned guys ahead of them. I think Larnach got the call-up too early and there was more to his injury or an injury we didn't hear about. Larnach and Kirilloff will be good MLB hitters.
  5. I think Alex is going to be a great hitter. Any trade including him better be amazing!
  6. I like Story. I think he could have the same impact as DJ LeMahieu has had leaving Colorado. He's had a great Yankees career. I also wanted the Twins to sign DJ so maybe I'm over compensating hoping Story could be great too.
  7. That was exactly my thought. Gray is a low #2 or a good#3.
  8. I would still rather have Berrios. Younger, more durable, and a good dude from all accounts.
  9. I agree. I think Sonny Gray would be great if we would have added a quality SP before the lockout, had Maeda still, and Gray was our #3 starter. It seems like we still have a long way to go, especially after trading Donaldson and Garver (and Cruz last year). We are now relying on a lot of people to step up offensively from poor recent performance or lack of experience.
  10. A couple quotes from Falvey seem to dictate how it's going to go. He said they did all they could before they lockout... Maybe I missed it, did we do anything? And he stated his first call was to Taylor Rogers. I kind of wish the first call would have been to Oakland or Cincinnati. I would personally feel better knowing that was the first call after hearing him state they did all they should before the lockout.
  11. With expanded playoff's...we can really start building upon our postseason series losing streak! I don't want to be that negative, but how in the world are we going to win anything with no pitching. It doesn't matter how much we score. I hope the F.O. proves me wrong, but I have a feeling '22 ain't gunna be great.
  12. If I remember correctly, I believe Law also worked for Toronto for a while.
  13. Royce seems to have a good head on his shoulders. You stated that, "No player deserves to go through all this, but it's hard to think of anyone who could deserve it less." If you think about it that way, there probably isn't a player in the Twins system better equipped to deal with setbacks like this. Very few could look at all these situations and stay positive, stay focused, and stay on track like Royce. He will make it very easy to root for him and his success.
  14. During free agency it only would have taken $'s. Money it seems like we have unspent. We should be seeing prospects coming up starting by mid season. We might as well ride it out now and see if this next wave has what it takes.
  15. Maybe the guy can start hitting just a little bit and we could flip him for something later down the line. Hopefully, he is stashed at Triple A and we won't be talking about his lack of hitting during the season. If the F.O. is worried fans won't have someone to complain about because of a lack of hitting...just resign Andrelton Simmons.
  16. He sounds like a great kid. I hope he has A LOT of success as our S.S. for the next 10 years!
  17. I think in a perfect world one of those three would be our shortstop...but I don't think they'd all be playing all over the diamond if the Twins through they were a future S.S.
  18. That is exactly what I wrote before reading your comment! First thing that popped into my head was the poor Pirates.
  19. "Additionally, the inside track to an extension is compelling and offers an attractive opportunity for more value. Whether a long-term investment in Glasnow is wise is another question." Has there been any talk of Glasnow being willing to take a below market deal? AND If you didn't think investing in Glasnow is wise, why on earth would you trade for the guy when you know he'll be out for 2022 after tommy john surgery. If you don't feel confident that he'll be good, don't waste trade assets to be the ones to find out. That's how you turn into the Pittsburgh Pirates.
  20. I was hoping we were going to go shopping at Kohl's earlier in the offseason. Looks like bin digging at the Thrift Store will have to do.
  21. Here's where the Twins will need to immediately take action once that happens. Immediate action.... Doesn't sound like the right F.O. for the job. What's the plan if we wait until a week into spring training? That could also be a good article to write.
  22. Kirilloff would have been fine. I think the other call ups were rushed because of injuries and ineffectiveness. I think Larnach and Celestino will both be good major league players when it is their time. Between Martin and Celestino, we should have some good CF depth in case Buxton is out for a period of time.
  23. I think he'll could be a great pickup. There has been some rumblings that he may find his way to the bullpen.
  24. I was really hoping the Twins would have spent money on 2 free agent pitchers this off season. If we could have penciled in 2 quality starters with Ryan/Ober, we would have been set. Then, if our young starters became stars and Ryan and Ober drop in the rotation, we would really have a great problem.
