  1. God, this article and thread are getting me irrationally excited. I'm going to go take a cold shower because I still know this can't last and I can't take the disappointment.
  2. Yeesh, you should honestly report that usher.
  3. Pretty lame to accuse Ortiz of PEDs, Seth. Those 2003 tests were a joke.
  4. His OPS in his final three years with the Twins: .810, .799, .839. He wasn't a crappy player. And that was with the Twins trying to get him to "hit it the other way". I do think he can get over it now. Twins messed up. He had a great career in Boston.
  5. In my mind it was a bit irresponsible. It's clear what he was hinting at. Doesn't look like much of anything to me. Hasn't changed my thoughts on Parker, I think he's awesome. Just don't think it was a very cool thing to do.
  6. Question for you fine folks, is there any site that provides velocity data for the minor leagues? Curious what Burdi is throwing and also am trying to prepare my Kohl Stewart thread.
  7. I think he is a bit immature but he's also very young. I'm not too worried about his future. I have a hunch he's going to be dedicated this year.
  8. He produces..just not defensively. Some team will make him their DH. Rays just didn't have room for him.
  9. Coors Field is very underrated, I love it there! I have to get to Fenway one day.
  10. According to a post on reddit, I guess this isn't happening? https://www.reddit.com/r/minnesotatwins/comments/4y17vx/the_miguel_sano_story_will_not_be_completed_due/ I understand if they ran out of money but they need to update the backers at least.
  11. Really good haul for a guy that even the Giants know isn't what he's been this year. It has been nice to see Nunez revitalize his career, hopefully he can be a steady regular.
  12. He's out of control for "looking into it"? I think we can calm down. I absolutely think the pitch clock should be implemented. I've been to several AAA games since it was implemented in the minors and it's great. It's still PLENTY of time to throw a pitch.
  13. So you would rather waste a year on a 30 year old shortstop that is mediocre defensively instead of Escobar? You'd rather start a 30 year old in CF instead of Buxton? The Twins would still be trash this year. I don't get why we would want anything to do with Desmond. Good pick up for the Rangers but it would have been a useless move for the Twins.
  14. If the Twins actually want value back from a guy like Santana, they need to be willing to eat a lot of salary. They haven't been willing to do that much in the past.
  15. My reasoning is that he has good trade value and is 29 years old. I honestly think the Twins are 3+ years from being actual playoff contenders so I'd rather go younger.
  16. 1. Byron Buxton CF 2. Max Kepler RF 3. Joe Mauer 1B 4. Miguel Sano 3B 5. Carlos Gomez LF (Not sure he would want to come back but I would try.) 6. Byung Ho Park DH (If he comes back late in the year and produces, I think he will.) 7. Wilson Ramos C 8. Eduardo Escobar SS 9. Jorge Polanco 2B I'm obviously not a believer in Rosario. He will not succeed with his current K/BB rate. I would love to be wrong. We would overpay to bring back Ramos and Gomez, but guess what, the Twins can afford to. If Gomez continues to struggle this year he will probably sign a one year deal and try to bounce back. Worth a gamble. I'd trade Dozier at the deadline or in the off-season.
  17. Now that is something I never thought I would read.
  18. He will never, ever, ever, ever have sustained success if he doesn't learn to walk a little bit. There is no way I would bring him up right now. He hasn't learned anything.
  19. Also, an actually good GM wanting Graham makes me nervous. We'll see how it turns out.
  20. I'm so horrified to think that the Torii Hunter thing might actually happen.
  21. Well, the season is going horribly but at least our GM has a plan...just kidding, let's just throw stuff at the wall and see what sticks.
  22. Why do you think Buxton needs motivation? Do you really think it's his fault he's been hurt so much?
  23. Christ. Bonnes, I'm almost offended that you think it's so crazy to complain about this move. I would bet a lot of money that Buxton would provide more value than Hunter over the rest of the season, based on defense alone. Buxton in CF and pushing Hicks to RF would make an elite defensive outfield. That's looking at the short term impact, which I don't even think is the point. Competing at this point is a pipe dream. The Twins should be trying to figure out if Buxton is ready to run with the job on Opening Day 2016. If Hunter can't accept a very limited role at this point. he's not the leader everyone says he is. (And I have a huge feeling he would balk. Which would be hilarious.)
