  1. Here's the good thing about taking a high upside, high risk guy....there is almost no downside. If they bring in DeShields and he's not working out they simply let him go. You don't really lose anything except the chance to have picked someone else that probably wouldn't have panned out.
  2. Since when is Adam Walker an elite prospect? The guy doesn't make enough contact. I'd love to see a guy with that much power and talent pan out, but it's a long shot. He's not someone you can count on.
  3. Yea...I think you're overrating Heyward a bit. He's a nice player, but not the elite guy you seem to think he is.
  4. Maybe a package starting with Arcia? I love Aria, but the Twins have a huge defense problem. Hayward would help with that. Arcia isn't quite the player Hayward is, but he has several years of team control and is younger.
  5. You're right, Seth, none of us are experts. Y'all may as well just shut down Twins Daily. Expressing opinions is pointless.
  6. I can understand why people are upset. I would have been with any other inside hire. However, with the amount effusive praise I've read about Molitor, I think he's going to be a good manager. He's a quiet, smart leader, he's open to new ideas and he's a lot different than Gardy. Now I just pray they bring in a great pitching coach.
  7. It is the offseason, he's free to go home. He was clearly talking about being with the Dodgers. It's a silly thing to get too upset about. I'd be lying if I said it didn't annoy me, though.
  8. When are people going to get it through their heads that a 4.39 ERA is no longer "solid" in this era of baseball? It's just bad. But back to the point of the article, I do think he could make a good reliever. I hope the Twins have that in mind.
  9. I would love that, but I think a lot more money is to be made by keeping the team.
  10. I am bothered by it. It's shameful. I'm just glad they had the sense to delete it.
  11. I'm just glad they're not bringing Hicks up again. I hope they bring him up to AAA and let him prove himself there.
  12. I think if the could have gotten a young prospect with upside, they would have. I just like that they're selling.
  13. For the love of God, trade him. He's the best trade chip they have.
  14. Tell him to stop diving for balls until he's in the majors!
  15. Great idea! Well besides the small problem of Mauer having a history of serious brain injuries that he's had a hard time recovering from. Get real. The guy has a family to think about. Besides, he's been heating up lately. No way his numbers don't get closer to career norms.
  16. Uh... What a weird development path Hicks has taken. If this is what he wants to do, leave him in AA the rest of the season.
  17. TK is the man. I don't care how monotonous he is. He's a good analyst. Smalley is actually not that bad, in my opinion. He's a sharp guy. I could do without anyone else, including Dick and Bert. Please retire soon, guys. Dick said something especially annoying yesterday: "I usually hate saying someone pitched better than their numbers...". Sure, unless it supports your stupid argument.
  18. Geeze, that's a scary headline. Might want to clarify that.
  19. "Too big" seems like a silly criticism for a DH-type that has proven he can rake at the AA level. I like Law, but I don't get that at all. I'm so excited to see him tearing it up. Rosario as well.
  20. MLB.TV is great and all for an out of market fan like me, but citizens of Minneapolis/Minnesota should not have to pay to listen to a clear radio broadcast. They paid for the stadium.
  21. I recommend tweeting at Dave St. Peter. Hopefully he won't be "amazed at the focus" of wanting to listen to a damn baseball game on the radio.
  22. These amateur scouting reports are fun an all, but I'm gonna trust the numbers. If May continues to have some semblance of control, he's a damn good prospect. Three starts doesn't prove anything, but his K/BB ratio is very encouraging thus far.
  23. Yeah, I just read that Bartlett was DL'd. He may not be back.
  24. He's clearly a "potential" HoFer. He's a near lock unless his career somehow collapses.
  25. Pretty ok with this. I was hopeful that he was replacing Bartlett, though.
