    Well this is interesting. They announced the lineup already and it’s different than we expected.

    Vázquez has looked rough this Spring but he's a very slow starter. He has just a .623 OPS in all his Spring Training games combined. And his April/March OPS is .638, lower than all other months. So nothing to be too concerned about. I'm excited to see what Jeffers does with his swing adjustments this year.

    I agree. He rambles on about too many useless stats. "So-and-so is 4 for 9 in day games against teams with a bird mascot." Hopefully he'll learn with time. He seems like a good guy and is definitely good with game updates.

    Looking at Polanco's advanced metrics and you aren't wrong. Age and injuries haven't done him any favors. I guess 2B defense is going to be pretty bad until someone like Lewis, Lee or Martin takes it over. Not even sure any of them will be plus options defensively.

    I think this is probably accurate. Not a huge fan of Castro, but Julien should probably be playing every day at AAA and no one else really makes sense. Not looking forward to Gordon's defense at 2B against righties. Farmer will be good against lefties. Hopefully Polanco is back sooner than later or Julien forces his way up.

    I feel like he's stepped up to a new level of bad this Spring, but maybe I've blocked out too much of last year.

    So far he's pitched 1.1 innings this spring and given up 9 earned runs. I'm just impressed at this point. I didn't know that was possible.

    KC's top three starters are RHP so that's probably accurate. I'm guessing Kirilloff won't be 100% by opening day so that might alter the lineup.

    Something interesting I discovered on Fielding Bible and Statcast...despite playing 1B last year for the first time in his career, he was phenomenal at it. In only 215 innings, he had 5 runs saved according to DRS which ranked 5th among first basemen. Statcast had him at 4 Outs Above Average and 3 runs prevented. Both tied for 2nd among all first basemen. Analytical teams like the Astros have put a surprising emphasis on 1B defense in recent years. Looks like the Twins are taking it seriously, as well. EDIT: Oh and his UZR/150 was 13.9. Easily the highest at 1B. Another thought...with the shift limitations, a 1B that has more range might be a big bonus as well.
