    Jorge got them because he's on the 40-man (so is Romero) and his starts lined up with when he was scheduled to pitch

    Ervin Santana and Gibson have pretty close to the same xFIP. My brain can't handle that fact and I have no idea what that tells me about Ervin, Gibby, or xFIP as a meaningful stat. Now the rest of you are burdened by this information just like I have been today.

    Except he did extended spring training last year, which will not show up on MiLB.com, but are real innings, if we're talking about ramping up his innings limit. I suspect he'll get to 140-150 this year. I wouldn't be shocked if he gets to 130 and he gets a call up to the majors to throw in the bullpen in mid August, and accumulate another 15-20 innings

    It's a moot point. $14M for Santana is a bargain. If the Twins were looking to deal Santana, his possible suitors would view that option year as a huge positive.

    Santana has a team option for the year after next. At $14M, that's an absolute lock to get picked up unless he just completely falls off a cliff. (Also, it would vest if he throws 200 innings next year or 400 combined between this year and next year) Basically.... unless we trade him, he's on this team for 2 more years after this one

    Gonsalves only has 23 AA starts. I'd hardly call that repeating, just because some came last year and some came this year.

    I'm a Buxton fan, don't get me wrong... but getting Archer would be pretty sweet

    Perhaps a more interesting question.... would you include Buxton as the main piece of an Archer trade?

    Happy to see Granite get a start but I kind of wish it wasn't at the expense of Buxton, who's had a nice last week or so. Couldn't we sit Grossman and DH Kepler or Rosario. Other than yesterday, Grossman has been scuffling a little.

    I think keeping the lefties together messes with opposing teams more than breaking them up. I'll use us facing the Red Sox as an example. The first two games of the series were Sale and Pomernaz. They are both lefties. We sat Mauer and Kepler against Sale. You don't want to sit them both two days in a row, so they both played against Pomeranz even though they have significant split issues against lefties.

    This leads me to believe that Mauer's back is more serious of a problem than we might believe and Kepler will be splitting time at 1b with Vargas, and Granite will be playing a decent amount of RF
